City Council meeting of March 16, 1998 <br />Page 6 <br />DEPUTY CLERK APPOINTMENT <br />The City Administrator recommended that the Council hire Michele Lindau as the Deputy <br />Clerk, at the rate of $9.00. <br />Miron made motion, Barnes seconded, to accept the recommendation of the City <br />Administrator and hire Michele Lindau as the City's Deputy Clerk, at the rate of $9.00/hr <br />effective March 16, 1998. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />ADVERTISE FOR OFFICE ASSISTANT <br />Ms. Lindau's promotion to Deputy Clerk leaves a vacancy for the Office Assistant <br />position. <br />Miron made motion, Leroux seconded, authorizing staff to advertise for the vacant Office <br />Assistant position. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />AUTHORIZATION OF PAY COMMISSION ON LAND SALE <br />Ms. Danna Feldmann of Johnson Associates, Forest Lake, requested that the City agree to <br />pay her a 4% commission for land purchased by her client, Cliff Bohman, in the Bald <br />Eagle Industrial Park. Ms. Feldmann is to represent the buyer in this transaction, and the <br />commission would reduced the tax increment incentive being provided the buyer. The <br />first paragraph of Section 7.3 in the Bald Eagle Industrial Park Expansion Plan states, <br />"The City does not rule out paying commission to a sales agent on land sold in the <br />Industrial Park, that all such commissions must be subject to a written agreement <br />approved by the City Council in advance of the sale." <br />Leroux made motion, Goiffon seconded, authorizing payment of the 4% sales commission <br />to Ms. Feldmann for land purchased in the Bald Eagle Industrial Park by her client, subject <br />to the conditions recommended by the City Administrator. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />GOOD NEIGHBOR DAYS <br />Miron made motion, Barnes seconded, directing the City Administrator assist the Hugo <br />Lions Club with scheduling of police protection during Good Neighbor Days (June 5-7, <br />1998). <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />
