City Council meeting of March 16, 1998
Page 5
130TH STREET LIFT STATION
The Council considered the City Engineer's report regarding the proposed location and
cost of a lift station necessary to serve the proposed Beaver Ponds Subdivision, as well as
adjacent developable property. The Engineer's report is based on the City's
Comprehensive Sanitary Sewer Plan, and recommends moving the lits station from the
proposed development to a site further east on 130th Street. This would allow for
efficient service to other properties in the area. The City Engineer estimates that moving
this lift station will cost the City approximately $189,000. Potential funding sources for
the project include assessment of adjacent benefited properties, the City's utility fund, or
some combination of the two.
Leroux made motion, Goiffon seconded, directing City staff to draft a Development
Agreement and resolution establishing a Service Connection District for the lift station.
All aye. Motion Carried.
FENWAY BOULEVARD LANDSCAPING
The City received a letter from Mrs. Laurie McRostie, a Landscape Architect with OSM,
providing a cost estimate for preparing a landscaping plan for Fenway Boulevard. This
road will be the dividing line between industrial property to the west, and residential
property to the east, and deserves a more detailed landscaping treatment than normally
provided for City streets. An option for paying for future maintenance on such a system is
to create a Special Service District for the Industrial Park, where the industrial properties
will pay to maintain the buffer area between them and the residential properties.
Leroux made motion, Miron seconded, that the City enter into a Agreement with the
landscape architect from OSM, for the preparation of two (2) concepts for a landscape
plan for Fenway Boulevard, at a cost not to exceed $4,900.
All aye. Motion Carried.
STANDARDS FOR FIRST FLOOR ELEVATIONS
The City's Water Resource Engineer has recommended that the City raise the threshold of
the lowest floor elevation by one foot.
Miron made motion, Leroux seconded, directing City staff to prepare an amendment to
the City's subdivision ordinance reflecting the change to the lowest floor elevation
requirement for review by the Council.
All aye. Motion Carried.
