MINUTES FOR THE HUGO CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF APRIL 6, 1998 <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Fran Miron at TOSPM. <br />PRESENT: Arcand, Goiffon, Leroux, Miron <br />City Administrator, Robert Museus <br />City Attorney, Greg Galler <br />City Engineer, Tom Angus <br />City Clerk, Mary Ann Creager <br />ABSENT: Debra Barnes <br />ADDITIONS TO AGENDA <br />Stop Sign at White Oak Heights <br />Discussion of Hardwood Creek Drainage <br />Oneka Lake Assessment Agreement <br />Road Restrictions <br />Beaver Ponds Development Agreement <br />Leroux made motion, Goiffon seconded, to approve the following Consent Agenda: <br />City Council minutes for March 16, 1998 <br />General Claims for April 6, 1998 <br />Variance (Stockness) <br />Firefighter Appointment <br />Final Payment and Project Acceptance (Emergency Warning Sirens) <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />VARIANCE (STOCKNESS) <br />Tim and Laura Stockness, 9757 122nd Street, requested a variance to construct a two- <br />level garage of 2, 400 sq ft, where 1,000 sq ft is allowed by ordinance. The property is <br />zoned RR2, and consists of approximately 7.63 acres. The Board of Adjustments <br />considered this request at their meetings of February 25, 1998 and March 25, 1998. They <br />recommended approval of the variance, but since the garage had been constructed prior to <br />granting of the variance; they also recommended doubling the variance fee. Adoption of <br />the Consent Agenda approved the variance conditioned upon payment of double the <br />normal variance fee. <br />FIREFIGHTER APPOINTMENT <br />Fire Chief, Jim Wisner, recommended the appointment of John E. Southworth, 15057 <br />Forest Boulevard, as a firefighter on probationary status. Mr. Southworth meets the <br />standards established by the Department's operating guidelines for appointment to the Fire <br />Department. Adoption of the Consent Agenda approved the appointment of Mr. <br />Southworth as a probationary firefighter. <br />
