City Council meeting of May 4, 1998
Page 5
AUTOMOBILE RECYCLING LICENSE (SCHUMANN)
Mr. David Schumann, dba D.J.'s Autobody, 7630 - 137th Street, requested an automobile
dismantling license for property identified above. The property is subject to a SUP issued
October 19, 1992. This matter was considered by the City Council at their meeting of April 20,
1998, and tabled until this meeting to give the Council an opportunity to view the site. An
inspection report of April 27, 1998 is on file. John and Ed Waller, adjacent property owners,
were present and stated that they objected to the issuance of the license because Mr. Schumann
has not screened his property as required in the SUP.
Miron made motion, Goiffon seconded, that the City issue Mr. Schumann dba D.J.'s
Autobody, an Auto Dismantling License for a one year period.
All aye. Motion Carried.
BUILDING PERMIT REQUEST (SCHUMANN)
Mr. David Schumann, 7630 137th Street, requested a building permit to construct two door
openings between his auto repair business and an adjacent accessory building, in order to
provide more convenient access to personal storage areas. The issuance of this building permit
would be in violation of an Agreement between the City and Mr. Schumann dated December
18, 1992, in which Mr. Schumann agreed that there would be no direct access between the
auto repair business and the new addition to the building. At the time, Mr. Schumann indicated
that the addition was to be used for personal storage only, and the City was concerned that
allowing a go -way between the structures would be an expansion of a lawful nonconforming
use.
Goiffon made motion, Leroux seconded, to approve the building permit request of David
Schumann for construction of two door openings between his auto repair business and an
adjacent accessory building.
VOTING AYE: Arcand, Goiffon, Leroux, Miron
VOTING NAY: Barnes
Motion Carried.
AUTOMOBILE RECYCLING LICENSE (HUGO AUTO PARTS)
Richard and Mikel Brandt, dba as Hugo Auto Parts, 16615 Forest Boulevard, requested an
automobile dismantling license for their business at the above location. This matter was
considered by the City Council at their meeting of April 20, 1998, and tabled to give the
Council an opportunity to view the site.
Miron made motion, Goiffon seconded, to approve the issuance of an Auto Dismantling
License for a one year period for Hugo Auto Parts.
