City Council meeting of September 21, 1998 <br />Page 5 <br />1998 AUDIT CONTRACT <br />The City's Finance Director recommended that the City retain the firm of Boyum & Barenscheer to <br />prepare the City's 1998 audit, at a cost not exceed $9,200. <br />Leroux made motion, Miron seconded, to accept the Finance Director's recommendation and retain <br />the firm, Boyum & Barenscheer, to prepare the City's 1998 audit, at a cost not to exceed $9,200. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />1999 ANIMAL CONTROL CONTRACT <br />The City received a proposed contract from Animal Control Services, Inc., for animal control services <br />during 1999. The Council reviewed a comparison of the expected contract costs for 1999 with 1998 <br />budget. <br />Miron made motion, Barnes seconded, to approve the 1999 Animal Control Contract effective <br />January 1, 1999. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />YEAR 2000 PROJECT COORDINATOR <br />The League of Minnesota Cities recommended that cities appoint a person to coordinate year 2000 <br />technology issues for the community. Specifically, it is the intent that Mr. Otkin will manage potential <br />problems that may be created in the community by the transition to the new century. <br />Barnes made motion, Leroux seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 1998-30 A RESOLUTION <br />APPOINTING THE CITY'S FINANCE DIRECTOR, RON OTKIN, AS THE PROJECT <br />COORDINATOR FOR THE YEAR 2000 PROBLEM. <br />VOTING AYE: Arcand, Barnes, Goiffon, Leroux, Miron <br />Motion Carried. <br />JOINT MEETING WITH FOREST LAKE TOWNSHIP <br />A joint meeting with the Forest Lake Town Board and Washington County Board has been set for <br />7:30 p.m., September 22, 1998, at the Rice Lake Park Building. <br />CORRESPONDENCE <br />The City received a letter of complaint regarding Granger's. <br />Leroux made motion, Barnes seconded, directing staff to inspect conditions at Granger's and report <br />their findings to the City Council. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />
