MINUTES OF THE HUGO CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF 02/17/97 The regular meeting was called to order by Mayor Miron at 7:13PM. PRESENT: Barnes, Goiffon, Johnson, Leroux, Miron City Administrator, Robert Museus City Engineer, Tom Angus City Attorney, Greg Gauer Maintenance Supervisor, Mike Kriz Deputy Clerk, Carole LaBelle ADDITION TQ AGENDA: Flay Avenue Project Motion made by Leroux, seconded by Miron,to approve the following Consent Agenda: City Council Minutes - February 3, 1997 Wilson Tool - City park use August 9, 1997 All aye, motion carried. Councilmember Johnson questioned why calcium chloride was used instead of salt. Mike Kriz stated that the calcium chloride works more effectively in extremely cold weather, but generally, the City is using salt. Motion made by Miron, seconded by Barnes to approve the Claims of February 17, 1997, in the amount of $149,413.34. All aye, motion carried. Councilmember Johnson also questioned why R.J.'s liquor license was issued with a large utility bill in arrears. It was explained that past utility accounts are levied against the property for payment with their property taxes; however, in the case of a liquor license holder, the bill is required to be paid prior to issuance of the license. In this instance, the past due utility bill had been levied against the property and the license issued. Motion made by Miron, seconded by Goiffon, to discontinue any legal action regarding R.J.'s liquor license in light of the fact that the utility bill has been paid in full. RAM International, Inc., will be notified that no license for 1998 will be issued unless all utilities are paid prior to issuing the liquor license. All aye, motion carried.
