City Council meeting of March 17, 1997 <br />Page 3 <br />Goiffon made motion, Miron seconded, to approve the site plan request of <br />American Structural Metals, 15152 Freeland Avenue, to construct a 14,100 sq ft <br />addition to the existing 13,720 sq ft building, according to the site and drainage <br />plans submitted. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION APPOINTMENT <br />Planning Commission Chairman Theodora Peltier, Council member James Leroux, <br />and City Administrator Robert Museus, interviewed the three candidates for the <br />vacancy in the City's Planning Commission and recommended the appointment of <br />Sydney Harrison, 14728 Irish Ave. No., to fill the vacancy left by the resignation <br />of Tim Agness. This term would run until 12/31/97. <br />Goiffon made motion, Barnes seconded, to appoint Sydney Harrison to the Hugo <br />Planning Commission for a term to expire 12/31/97. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />INTERFUND TRANSFER <br />As discussed previously with the Council, the City's Finance Director <br />recommended transferring $19,377.46 from the 1984 Improvement Bond Sinking <br />Fund to the Capital Facilities Fund effective January 1, 1997. This transfer is being <br />recommended since the 1984 Capital Improvement Bond issue has been paid and <br />the Fund is no longer necessary. <br />Barnes made motion, Goiffon seconded, approving transfer of $19,377.46 from <br />the 1984 Improvement Bond Sinking Fund to the Capital Facilities Fund, effective <br />January 1, 1997. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />FIRE HALL COMMITTEE UPDATE <br />Dave Schumann and Mike Trossen presented the Council with a report on Needs <br />Assessment for Expansion & Renovation for the Hugo Fire Station. The <br />Committee has suggested that the new proposals be presented to City residents at <br />a community meeting. It was suggested that the meeting date be included in the <br />Spring Newsletter. <br />
