MINUTES FOR THE HUGO CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF MAY 5,1997
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Fran Miron at 7:05PM.
PRESENT: Barnes, Goiffon, Johnson, Miron
City Attorney, Greg Galler
City Engineer, Tom Angus
City Planner, Ed Elliott
City Clerk, Mary Ann Creager
ABSENT: James Leroux
Additions to Agenda
Discussion of Judicial Ditch #2
Discussion of Clearwater Creek Project
Goiffon made motion, Barnes seconded, to approve the following Consent Agenda:
City Council minutes of April 21, 1997
City Council minutes of April 28, 1997
City Council minutes for April 29, 1997
General claims for May 5, 1997
Charitable Gambling License (Keystone Lounge)
All aye. Motion Carried.
VARIANCE REQUEST - BRI IIAER
Mr. Charles Brimmer is requesting a variance for construction of a steel -sided 26 x 54 sq
ft accessory building. The Quonset -style construction of the proposed structure is not of a
similar exterior as the residence. The variance to size and setback was granted in 1995.
Mr. Brimmer stated that this structure would be 8' lower in height than a traditional
garage, would have a wood front with a single car garage, concrete floor, and will be built
into the woods. He also intends to install a service door and window. The Board of
Zoning Adjustments considered this request at their meeting of April 23, 1997, and
recommended approval subject to the following conditions:
1. The structure is constructed according the size and setback restrictions granted by the
Special Use Permit granted in 1995.
2. The front siding be wood and match the color of the residence.
3. The existing single car garage on site be removed prior to construction of the
proposed building.
Because of the residential nature of the area, Barnes and Miron did not feel that
construction of such a building would be in the spirit of the ordinance. Attorney Galler
