City Council meeting of August 4, 1997
Page 4
greenhouses of greater height. They are also requesting a driveway access on to Everton
Avenue to serve delivery trucks picking up and delivering from the greenhouses. RCWD
has stated that the changes contemplated are within the scope of their previous permit
issued to the site. Robert Museus, City Administrator, stated that the real issue is the
driveway access request for Everton Avenue. Previously, this request had been denied by
another Council, with no stated reason.
Miron made motion, Goiffon seconded, to approve the request of J.R Johnson Supply for
a revised Site Plan to remove two greenhouses, 14' x 96' and 30' x 96' in size. They will
be replaced with two (2) 30' x 96' greenhouses of greater height. Approval is also given
for a driveway from the site to Everton Avenue subject to acquisition of 33' for roadway
easement, if needed.
All aye. Motion Carried.
TOBACCO ORDINANCE
The Council considered a letter received from the Washington County Department of
Health questioning if the City will be developing a new tobacco control ordinance based
on recently adopted state law.
Leroux made motion, Miron seconded, to table action on this matter until the City
Attorney provides a draft ordinance for Council review.
All aye. Motion Carried.
COMP PLAN LETTER
Leroux made motion, Goiffon seconded, to authorize sending of a letter drafted by the
City Administrator to the Met Council requesting action on the City's Comp Plan.
All aye. Motion Carried.
Leroux made motion, Goiffon seconded, to adjourn at 9:30PM.
All aye. Motion Carried.
Mary Ann Creager
City Clerk
