City Council meeting of August 18, 1997 <br />Page 6 <br />The City received a response from Don Theissen regarding concerns raised by residents <br />of C.R. 8A about the road improvement project. <br />Miron made motion, Leroux seconded, directing staff to contact CR 8A residents with <br />Washington County's response to their concerns. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />Councilman Leroux stated that he had become involved with a drainage problem at <br />Elmcrest Avenue and 165th Street. It was his opinion that the house was not constructed <br />at the proper floor elevation and was experiencing water problems. Mr. Leroux, as well <br />at the Administrator and Maintenance Supervisor, will inspect the site on Tuesday <br />morning, at 9:00AM. <br />The City received a letter regarding sirens being used by the Fire Department, as well as <br />the quality of playground equipment located in the City Park. <br />Leroux made motion, Miron seconded, directing the City Engineer obtain quotes to <br />update the City's siren control system, including the south tower. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />Author of the letter is to be informed on the Park Planning Process now taking place <br />within the City. <br />Council member Johnson questioned the landscaping improvements not completed at the <br />newly -constructed Oneka Childcare Center. She was informed that at this time, the City <br />does not have landscaping requirements. <br />Council member Johnson also questioned the practicality of the island located in the cul- <br />de-sac at the White Oak Heights subdivision. She was concerned with access to the site <br />by emergency vehicles, and possible snowplowing problems. <br />Miron made motion, Johnson seconded, directing the City Engineer review the cul-de-sac <br />island located in the White Oak Heights subdivision for access by emergency vehicles <br />and reports his findings to the Council. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />
