City Council meeting of October 20, 1997 <br />Page 4 <br />Leroux made motion, Goiffon seconded, to appoint Warren Arcand to fill the Ward 1 <br />vacancy. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />CHARITABLE GAMBLING <br />The City of Hugo Fire Department has requested that the City consider implementing a <br />program that would require a certain percentage of charitable gambling proceeds be paid <br />to the City for use in establishing an equipment replacement fund. <br />Leroux made motion, Barnes seconded, directing the City Attorney to draft an ordinance <br />implementing recovering gambling profits for use in acquisition of fire equipment. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />WORK PLACE SAFETY POLICY <br />Leroux made motion, Goiffon seconded, to approve the Work Place Safety Policy. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />FIRE HALL INFORMATION MEETING <br />Leroux made motion, Goiffon seconded, to schedule an informational Council meeting for <br />November 12, 1997, Hugo City Hall, at 7:30PK to further discuss the Fire Hall <br />referendum. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />MISCELLANEOUS <br />The City Administrator stated that a City Newsletter will be prepared for mailing the first <br />week in November. <br />Either Senator Grams or his representative will be present at the Council meeting of <br />November 3rd to present a "service award" to the Hugo Fire Department. <br />Resident Floreen Meyer was present to request City assistance to relieve flooding <br />problems in her hayfield. The City Administrator will contact Tony of the RCWD <br />requesting that he make an inspection of the area. <br />
