City Council meeting of October 20, 1997 <br />Page 3 <br />1. There is no certified refrigerant reclaim operator working the site as required by <br />Chapter 130-8, Division C. <br />2. There are 25,000 to 30,000 waste tires located on the site posing fire and health <br />hazards. This is in violation of Chapter 130-8, Subdivision G. <br />3. Fencing surrounding the site is in a state of disrepair, and the visual screening is <br />inadequate to block the dismantling activities from view of adjacent property and the <br />public right-of-way. This is in violation of Hugo City Code, Chapter 130-8, Subdivision I. <br />4. There are a number of 55 -gallon drums stored on the site containing, what is expected <br />to be, hazardous materials. The contents of these drums are not identified on the <br />containers. This is in violation of Chapter 130-8, Subdivision H. <br />MINING PERMIT RENEWAL (INDYKIEWICZ) <br />Mr. George Indykiewicz, DBA, Brighton Excavating Company, 1920 Highway 96, New <br />Brighton, has requested renewal of his mining permit to remove sand and dirt from his <br />property in Hugo described as the W1/2 of the N1/2 of Section 17, T31N, R21 W, except <br />a 330' by 660' tract located north and west of the center Section 17, and including a <br />triangular parcel located in the E1/2 of the N1/2 of Section 17 west of TH 61 and south of <br />Section 8. All subject to the railroad right-of-way and all other easements and right-of- <br />ways dedicated for public purposes. <br />Leroux made motion, Goiffon seconded, to approve renewal of the mining permit for <br />George Indykiewicz. for a one year period, under the terms and conditions of the existing <br />permit. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />NO PARKING REQUEST (147TH STREET EAST OF FOREST BLVD.) <br />Dr. William E. Barrett, 5673 147th Street, has requested establishment of a NO <br />PARKING zone along his property abutting 147th Street. This request was reviewed by <br />the City Engineer, who recommended approval of the request. <br />Leroux made motion, Barnes seconded, to approve the request of Dr. Barrett for <br />installation of NO PARKING signs along his property abutting 147th Street. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />CITY COUNCIL VACANCY <br />One application had been received for the position of City Council member for Ward 1. <br />That letter was authored by Warren Arcand. <br />
