City Council meeting of January 2, 1996 <br />Page _ <br />JOINT MEETING WITH PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Miron made motion, Barnes seconded, directing City staff to schedule a <br />joint meeting with the Planning Commission for January 9 or 10, 1996 for <br />the purpose of discussion of the City's Comprehensive Plan. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />BROWN'S CREEK STUDY <br />The City of Hugo will hold a joint meeting with May Township on January <br />22, 1996 at Withrow Elementary School to discuss the Brown's Creek <br />flooding issues. The City Administrator requested that the Council <br />determine an engineer to conduct necessary study. <br />LeroUX made motion, Miron seconded. to desio_nate Steve Woods as the <br />engineer to conduct the Brown's Creek study for the City of Hugo. <br />Barnes made motion, Miron seconded, to amend the previous motion that Pete <br />Willenbring of WSB be considered an alternate should May Township disagree <br />with the choice of Steve Woods. <br />VOTE ON AMENDMENT: All aye. Motion Carried. <br />VOTE ON ORIGINAL MOTION: All aye. Motion Carried. <br />DOWNTOWN REDEVELOPMENT SCHEDULE <br />The City received a downtown redevelopment schedule from Hoisington <br />Koegler Group, Inc. It was suggested that the schedule be forwarded to <br />the local newspapers as a press release. <br />RIVER CITY ASPHALT <br />The City Attorney stated that River City Asphalt has signed their Mining <br />and Special Use Permits, but that they had crossed out certain statements <br />on the documents not to their liking- <br />Miron made motion, Leroux seconded, authorizing the City Attorney request <br />a hearing with Judge Ken Maas to have River City Asphalt shut down their <br />operation due to lack of proper permits from the City of Hugo. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />REQUEST FOR SALARY INCREASE <br />Miron made motion, Lerou:: seconded, to accept the City Administrator's <br />recommendation that no salar;; increase be awarded to Carole LaBelle at <br />this time based on facts provided. <br />Council member Barnes asked if the City looked at performance in addition <br />to comparable worth, and was informed that. no City employees have had a <br />performance evaluation. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />
