City Council meeting of May 20, 1996 Page 4 that it will take 12 weeks to complete the project. The City has previously committed to the Metro Council to provide them with this information. Funding for the project would come from the City's sewer utility account. Staff recommended that the Council authorize the City Engineer to prepare the required studies. 2. The Metro Council requested that the City provide, as a part of the Comp Plan, a five-year capital improvement program to describe how the City intends to implement the revised Comp Plan. Staff can prepare the background information for'such a plan relatively quickly. Review of the program will require, potentially, one or two meetings by the City Council. After a lengthy discussion regarding the additional information requested, resulting in a decision to not commit the $33,00 expenditure, the following motion was made: Miron made motion, LaValle seconded, to table action on Met Council's request for additional information relative to the City's Comp Flan, to allow time for the Administrator to communicate with Met Council in an effort to determine the necessity for the additional wort::. All aye. Motion Carried. CORRESPONDENCE The Council briefly reviewed their correspondence with no action necessary. HOMESTEAD AVENUE NORTH Attorney Galler gave a brief summation of the Brevig litigation regarding lowering of the Homestead Avenue pond. LAUZON (SPECIAL USE PERMIT) Miron made motion, Goiffon seconded, to table action of the Lauzon/Meehan application for a Special Use Permit until such time as a new application is submitted to the City. All aye. Motion Carried. LCMR GRANT APPLICATION Councilman LaValle asked for an update on the LCMR grant application process. It was his understanding that affected property owners would be kept current of the project's status. Barnes made motion, Goiffon seconded, to adjourn at 8:55 PM. All aye. Motion Carried.
