City Council meeting of May 20, 1996 <br />Page 4 <br />that it will take 12 weeks to complete the project. The City has <br />previously committed to the Metro Council to provide them with this <br />information. Funding for the project would come from the City's sewer <br />utility account. Staff recommended that the Council authorize the City <br />Engineer to prepare the required studies. <br />2. The Metro Council requested that the City provide, as a part of the <br />Comp Plan, a five-year capital improvement program to describe how the <br />City intends to implement the revised Comp Plan. Staff can prepare <br />the background information for'such a plan relatively quickly. Review <br />of the program will require, potentially, one or two meetings by the <br />City Council. <br />After a lengthy discussion regarding the additional information requested, <br />resulting in a decision to not commit the $33,00 expenditure, the <br />following motion was made: <br />Miron made motion, LaValle seconded, to table action on Met Council's <br />request for additional information relative to the City's Comp Flan, to <br />allow time for the Administrator to communicate with Met Council in an <br />effort to determine the necessity for the additional wort::. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />CORRESPONDENCE <br />The Council briefly reviewed their correspondence with no action <br />necessary. <br />HOMESTEAD AVENUE NORTH <br />Attorney Galler gave a brief summation of the Brevig litigation regarding <br />lowering of the Homestead Avenue pond. <br />LAUZON (SPECIAL USE PERMIT) <br />Miron made motion, Goiffon seconded, to table action of the Lauzon/Meehan <br />application for a Special Use Permit until such time as a new application <br />is submitted to the City. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />LCMR GRANT APPLICATION <br />Councilman LaValle asked for an update on the LCMR grant application <br />process. It was his understanding that affected property owners would be <br />kept current of the project's status. <br />Barnes made motion, Goiffon seconded, to adjourn at 8:55 PM. <br />All aye.
