City Council meeting of June 5, 1995 <br />Page 4 <br />REIMBURSEMENT BOND FOR POST OFFICE P'ROP'ERTY (RESOLUTION) <br />The Council considered a resolution which would provide the City an option <br />to fund the acquisition and improvement of the proposed Post Office site <br />through a bond issue. In order to issue such a bond, the City must make a <br />prior declaration of its official intent to reimburse itself for any <br />expenditures which occur prior to the bond issue. <br />Miron made motion, LaValle seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 1995-7, <br />RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING PROCEDURES RELATING TO COMPLIANCE WITH <br />REIMBURSEMENT BOND REGULATIONS UNDER THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE. <br />VOTING AYE: Barnes, Goiffon, LaValle, Miron <br />Motion Carried. <br />CITY HALL BUILDING COMMITTEE <br />The Council expressed interest in discussing the formation of a Committee <br />to study the need for a new City Hall to serve the community. Staff <br />recommended that the Committee be comprised of one Council member, one <br />Planning Commission member, two residents of the community, and one member <br />of the City staff. <br />LaValle made motion, Miron seconded, that City staff be directed to place <br />an advertisement in the White Bear Press for interested residents to serve <br />on the City Hall Needs Committee. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />JUNE 12TH MEETING WITH HOWARD LESTRUD <br />Previously, the Council had established a special meeting for June 12, <br />1995, to meet with Mr. Howard Lestrud of the Forest Lake Times to discuss <br />the State of Minnesota's Open Meeting Law and Date Privacy Act. No action <br />was required. <br />WILLIAM LOWELL VIOLATIONS <br />LaValle made motion, Barnes seconded, directing the City Attorney to start <br />legal action against William Lowell for ordinance violations at his <br />property located at the north west corner of 140th Street and T.H. 61. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />FIRE HYDRANT <br />LaValle made motion, Goiffon seconded, authorizing installation of a fire <br />hydrant at Lower 147th Street and Fondant Avenue. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />RECOMMENDATION TO RECESS MEETING <br />Given the large number of public hearings scheduled for tonight's <br />
