City Council meeting of August 7, 1995 <br />Page <br />PUS,lIC HEARING (SHORELAND ORDINANCE) <br />A public hearing was held to consider adoption of an ordinance regulating <br />the development of shorelands, and repealing inconsistent ordinances. <br />This is an update of the City's existing shoreland ordinance required by <br />recent changes in State law. Kien Tschida and Jim Merila addressed the <br />Council with brief comments, and the Council discussed their concerns with <br />the proposed ordinance: definitions, mapping, and erosion control. <br />Miron made motion, Leroux: seconded, to table further discussion of the <br />proposed ordinance until the meeting of August 21, 1995. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />SPECIAL IJSE PERMIT (HARL_E:Y . J OHNSC: N , 7 F..._ )... <br />Mr. Harley Johnson, Jr., 14195 Fenway Avenue, requested a SUP to construct <br />a bb' x: 48' pole building at the above address. The property is currently <br />zoned RR1, which allows 1,00 sq fit of accessory building. This property <br />is subject to an existing SUP permitting a 48' x b•?' structure, which is <br />already located on the site. The PC considered Mr. Johnson's request on <br />July ib, 1995, and recommended approval of the SUP subject to special <br />conditions. <br />Barnes made motion, L_aVaf le seconded, to approve the SUP request of Harley <br />.Johnson, 141.95 Fenway Avenue, to con=t.r;ict:. a 49' x 65' pole building for <br />use in his sod business. Approval is si..;.t_;,F ct to the following special. <br />conditions: <br />L,0 <br />5. <br />b. <br />7. <br />8. <br />The property owner may const.ruct and maintain two buildings on the <br />site for the storage and maintenance of equipment and materials <br />related to the permitted business. The buildings may not exceed 3,168SF each. All equipment and mater.i.a.ls maintained on the site related <br />to the business must be stored in the building when not in use. <br />Permitted commercial activity on the site shall include only the <br />cultivation, trucking, and sale of scud. <br />The hours of product sales shall be limited to 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, <br />Monday through Saturday, and 9 AM to 7:00 PM on Sundays. <br />Trucking of materials and equipment, to and from the site, shall be <br />limited to the hours of 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Monday through Saturday. <br />No sod may be hauled onto the site on Sundays. <br />The property owners may maintain and operate two trucks up to 80,000 <br />GVW, but not exceed 9 -ton per aisle when loaded. <br />Sod grown off the site may be stored and sold on the site. <br />The hours of operation contained in this Special Use Permit do not <br />apply to the cultivation of sod on the site or adjacent. property. <br />This Permit supersedes all previous Special Use Permits issued to this <br />property. <br />9. The haul roads for the business shall be the most direct route from <br />the site along Fenway Avenue and 140th Street to T.H. 61. The <br />property owner shall be responsible for ensuring its agents use these <br />routes. <br />
