MINUTES FOR THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 18. 1995 <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Fran Miron at 7:00 PM. <br />PRESENT: Barnes, Goiffon, LaValle, Leroux, Miron <br />City Administrator, Robert Museus <br />City Attorney, Greg Galler <br />City Engineer, Tom Angus <br />City Clerk, Mary Ann Creager <br />Additions to tonight's agenda: <br />Appointments to Fire Department <br />Quote to gravel roads <br />Post Office Contract <br />Parking Complaint <br />Leroux made motion, Barnes seconded, to adopt the following Consent <br />Agenda: <br />Minutes for the City Council meeting of August 30, 1995 <br />Minutes for the City Council meeting of September 5, 1995 <br />Minutes for the City Council meeting of September 11, 1995 <br />Claims for September 18, 1995, in the amount of $16,765.09 <br />Charitable Gambling Permit (National Ataxia Foundation selling pull -tabs <br />at Carpenter's) <br />Use of Rice Lake Park Building by Boy Scouts <br />Building Department Assistant <br />The foregoing Consent Agenda was adopted unanimously. <br />BAL.YK (VARIANCE) <br />Tom and Cindy Balyk, 12050 Isleton Avenue, requested a variance to <br />construct a detached garage between their residence and Isleton Avenue. <br />Based on Council policy, this matter was provided directly to the City <br />Council. <br />Barnes made motion. Miron seconded, to approve the variance request of Tom <br />and Cindy Balyk to construct an 18' x 22' garage close to Isleton Avenue <br />•t_han the residence based on the following: the building setback <br />requirements for Round Lake, the location of their septic system, and the <br />fact that their residence is 7c_►U' from Isleton Avenue allowing_ substantial <br />amount of space for the garage. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />1996 LAW ENFORCEMENT CONTRACT <br />At the Council meeting of 9/5/95, the City Council objected to the 8.8% <br />increase proposed for the 1996 Contract, and directed staff to express the <br />City's concerns to the Washington County Sheriff's Dept., regarding <br />changes to the credit hours provided to the City for the deputy's drive <br />time between the patrol area and the County Courthouse during shift <br />changes, and the switch from a City -owned patrol vehicle to a leased <br />vehicle from the County. Sheriff Jim Frank was present at the Council <br />meeting to explain his reasons for the proposed increase in the City's <br />
