MINUTES <br />HUGO PLANNING COMMISSION <br />October 14, 2010 <br />Call to Order <br />Chairman Schumann called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Arcand, Kleissler, Moore, McRoberts, Rosenquist Schumann <br />ABSENT: Gwynn <br />ALSO PRESENT: Bryan Bear, Community Development Director <br />Dennis Fields, Community Development Assistant <br />Rachel Simone, Planner <br />Approval of Minutes of August 26, 2010 <br />Arcand made motion, Moore seconded, to approve the Planning Commission minutes of <br />August 26, 2010 as presented. <br />All Ayes, Motion carried. <br />Prairie Village — Interim Use Permit for an offsite directional sign <br />Planner, Rachel Simone, gave the background to the Planning Commission. She explained that <br />the applicant was requesting approval of an offsite directional sign for the Prairie Village <br />development. The IUP would terminate when 90% of the lots in the development are sold. The <br />Sign could be a maximum of 32 sq. feet and 8 feet in height from normal grade. Staff <br />recommended approval of the request. <br />Schumann opened the public hearing. <br />Ryan Schaffer, resident and President of the Heritage Ponds Association, questioned why the <br />sign had already been there for several weeks and had concerns with the maintenance of the sign. <br />Rachel explained that the application had come in several weeks before the public hearing date. <br />A complaint was made about the sign and the sign was moved to a more appropriate location and <br />at that time a IUP application was made. <br />Schumann asked Mr. Schaffer when he moved into his development. <br />Ryan Schaffer answered 2006. <br />Schumann asked Mr. Schaffer if there was a directional sign for his development at that time. <br />Ryan Schaffer answered that there was indeed a sign. <br />
