MINUTES <br />HUGO PLANNING COMMISSION <br />July 9, 2009 <br />Call to Order <br />Chairman Schumann called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Burmeister, Galler, Kleissler, Moore, Schumann <br />ABSENT: McRoberts, Rosenquist <br />ALSO PRESENT: Dennis Fields, Community Development Assistant <br />Rachel Simone, Associate Planner <br />Approval of Minutes of May 28, 2009 <br />Galler made motion, Burmeister seconded, to approve the Planning Commission minutes of <br />May 28, 2009. <br />All Ayes <br />Motion carried. <br />Pre Plat & Final Plat for Victor Gardens Commons, and PUD General Plan for PAWS Pet <br />Hospital <br />Associate Planner, Rachel Simone, gave the background to the Planning Commission. With the <br />Pre and Final Plat, the applicant is requesting to subdivide Lot 1, Block 5, Victor Gardens 4th <br />Addition into two lots to be known as Victor Garden Commons. The Property is a total of 2.23 <br />acres in size. The applicant is also seeking approval of a PUD general plan to construct a 3,595 <br />square foot pet hospital building. Rachel also noted that there are no approvals requested for the <br />site plan on the vacant lot adjacent to the proposed pet hospital. Staff recommends approval of <br />the applications. <br />Galler questioned the type of shrubs surrounding the mechanical equipment. More specifically <br />for screening in winter months. <br />Rachel explained that they were a coniferous shrub that would still provide screening during the <br />winter months. <br />Schumann opened the public hearing. <br />PAWS Pet Hospital owner Michelle Beck expressed her excitement to be in Hugo to the <br />Planning Commission. She further explained how PAWS would provide a welcome business to <br />the neighborhood. <br />
