MINUTES <br />HUGO PLANNING COMMISSION <br />APRIL 24, 2008 <br />Call to Order <br />Chairman Schumann called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Kleissler, McRoberts, Moore, Rosenquist, Schumann, and Weidt <br />ABSENT: None <br />ALSO PRESENT: Bryan Bear, Community Development Director <br />Dennis Fields, Community Development Assistant <br />Kendra Lindahl, City Planner <br />Rachel Simone, Associate Planner <br />Approval of Minutes of April 10, 2008 <br />Weidt made motion, Moore seconded, to approve the Planning Commission minutes of April 10, <br />2008 as presented. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />PUD General Plan for Lake Area Bank <br />Planner Kendra Lindahl explained the plan for the 4,900 sq. ft. bank with drive through. It was <br />located on a platted lot in Victor Gardens 4th subdivision in 2004 PUD. PUD standards are <br />consistent for this development. She noted that although the architecture does not follow the <br />Victor Gardens French Village theme, the materials and building is a quality design. <br />Kendra explained that the applicant is requesting flexibility to allow exemptions to the PUD <br />regarding the setbacks, detached trash structure, screening with shrubs, wall signs, and one less <br />parking stall than required. <br />Len Pratt the developer for the project welcomed Lakes Area Bank to Hugo and introduced the <br />staff and consultants working on the project. <br />Scott Wiestling, a member of the design team explained the reasons for requesting the PUD <br />flexibility. He stated that the reduced size of the building, and location of adjacent roads where <br />the reasons for the requests. <br />McRoberts questioned the reasoning for the location of the building and setbacks. Kendra <br />explained that this was due to the location of the existing temporary bank and the drive through <br />lane. <br />
