Planning Commission Meeting March 13, 2003 - page 2 <br />The Commission discussed the possibility of setting aside the property at the Rice Lake Park <br />Building. <br />Rosenquist made motion, Malaski seconded, to recommend approval of the ordinance amending <br />the Comprehensive Land Use Regulations to increase parkland dedication to 10%. <br />Ayes: Bailly, Kleissler, Malaski, Rosenquist, Schumann <br />Nay: Peltier <br />Motion carried. <br />Downtown Architectural and Site Design Standards <br />The CD Director presented his report suggesting draft design standards for development and <br />redevelopment of the downtown area. Slides were shown presenting several concepts for downtown <br />development. The CD Director explained that there would be many public meeting to follow. <br />Schumann invited the members of the Commission to bring in any pictures they may find that may <br />contain ideas for downtown redevelopment. <br />The Commission discussed signs, plazas, parking, landscaping, building sizes, bike parking, <br />interconnectivity in trail systems, nature centers, Rice Lake Park Building, and development along <br />Egg Lake. <br />The Commission will discuss detailed landscaping, signage standards, and scaling and massing issues <br />at their next meeting. <br />Adjournment <br />Malaski made motion, Peltier seconded, to adjourn at 8:08 pm. <br />All Ayes.
