MINUTES <br />HUGO PLANNING COMMISSION <br />SEPTEMBER 11, 2003 <br />CA to Order <br />Chairperson Schumann called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Kleissler, Malaski, Rosenquist, Schumann <br />ABSENT: Bailly, McRoberts, Peltier <br />ALSO PRESENT: John Rask, Community Development Director <br />Michele Lindau, Planning Commission Secretary <br />Minutes of August 28, 2003 <br />Malaski made motion, Kleissler seconded, to approve of the minutes of August 28, 2003 as <br />amended. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Remembrance of September 11 <br />Malaski acknowledged and honored all those who lost their lives in the September 11 attacks on <br />the United States and all those who serve to protect this Country. The Commission and audience <br />paid their respects with a moment of silence. <br />Future Central Business Zoning District <br />The Planning Commission continued the public hearing on the rezoning of properties located <br />along 145th and 146th Street, west of Highway 61, and the properties along 147th Street and Flay <br />Avenue, from Central Business and Future Central Business District. <br />The Community Development Director provided background on the rezoning request explaining <br />that on August 28, 2003, the Planning Commission reviewed the draft zoning ordinance text and <br />map amendment for various parcels in the downtown. Upon accepting public input, the Planning <br />Commission tabled action to provide time to publish legal notice in the paper. Additionally, the <br />Planning Commission requested that staff further research the history behind the rezoning that <br />occurred in 1999. <br />
