MINUTES FOR THE HUGO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING January 26, 2000 The meeting was called to order by Planning Commission Chairperson Puleo at 7:00 p.m. PRESENT: Kellison, Malaski, Peltier, Puleo, Schumann Deputy Clerk, Michele Lindau ABSENT: Kleissler Vice Chairperson Appointment Kellison made motion, Malaski seconded, to appoint Dave Schumann as the Vice Chairperson for the year 2000. All AYES. Motion carried. Minutes of December 26,1999 Kellison made motion, Peltier seconded, to approve the Planning Commission minutes for the meeting of December 26, 1999, as submitted. AYES: Kellison, Peltier, Puleo, Schumann ABSTAIN: Malaski Motion carried. Conditional Use Permit (Neamy) Scott and Lea Ann Neamy, 17220 Keystone Ave. N., applied for a Conditional Use Permit to operate a children's day camp and petting zoo on their property at the above address. The purpose of this permit is to establish the extent of the lawful non -conforming use of this property. Discussion of this request was last tabled at the request of the Neamys during the regular Planning Commission meeting on November 17, 1999. At the November meeting, the Planning Commission requested the Neamys provide a site plan for the property showing required parking, sanitary facilities, and area reserved for miniature golf and picnic grounds. The Planning Commission considered a letter from Frederic Knaak, attorney for the Neamys, which stated the Neamys' decision to withdraw their application for the Conditional Use Permit. The letter also stated their intent to operate their business as they have for some years, without any further expansion of the operation or change of use, without first obtaining a Conditional Use Permit. Schumann made motion, Peltier seconded, to accept the withdrawal of the Neamy's application for a Conditional Use Permit, and prohibit them from changing or expanding the present use of their property without obtaining the necessary Conditional Use Permit. All AYES. Motion carried.
