MINUTES FOR THE HUGO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br />May 24, 2000 <br />The meeting was called to order by Planning Commission Chairperson Puleo at 7:05 p.m. <br />Roll Call <br />PRESENT: Kleissler, McRoberts, Peltier, Puleo, Schumann, Rooney. Buller arrived after minutes of <br />April 26, 2000, were approved. <br />City Planner, Dan Cornejo <br />Deputy Clerk, Michele Lindau <br />ABSENT: Kellison, Malaski <br />Minutes of April 26, 2000 <br />Peltier made motion, McRoberts seconded, to approve the minutes of April 26, 2000, as amended. <br />AYES: McRoberts, Peltier, Puleo, Rooney, <br />ABSTAIN: Kleissler, Schumann <br />Motion carried. <br />Alternate Planning Commission Member <br />The Planning Commission was uncertain as to what the proper procedure was in regard to assigning <br />alternate members to the Planning Commission. The Planning Commission requested the City Council <br />establish the rules for the alternate members or direct the Planning Commission to do so. Specifically, <br />which of the two alternate members should be selected, and should the alternate be asked to step down if a <br />regular member arrived prior to discussion of any agenda item. <br />Conditional Use Permit (Ramberg) <br />The Planning Commission held a public hearing on March 22, 2000, to consider Dan Ramberg's request for <br />a Conditional Use Permit for horse related activities on his property located at 5676 170th Street N. The <br />Planning Commission tabled the request at the March meeting and again at the April meeting. Dan <br />Cornejo, City Planner, the applicant and a few members of the Planning Commission met on May l& to <br />address the issues and questions raised by the Planning Commission. That meeting concluded that the <br />rodeo use, campground use, and the tack shop did require a CUP; however, the Ramberg's would not need <br />a CUP for horse training and boarding facilities if they were an accessory use of the property. Ramberg and <br />Cornejo plan to meet with the City Attorney to determine whether the horse training and boarding facility is <br />a principal or accessory use of the property. <br />The Planning Commission discussed the conditions of the Conditional Use Permit for the rodeo, <br />campground, and tack shop as drafted by the City Planner. <br />Puleo made motion, McRoberts seconded, to recommend approval of the Conditional Use Permit for the <br />rodeo, campground, and tack shop with the revised conditions stated in the City Planners staff report. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />The Planning Commission asked Mr. Ramberg to provide the City Council with a revised site plan to <br />
