The reqular meetinq was called to order b, Chairman Peltier at 7:06PM. <br />PRESENT: Agness, Waller, Schumann, Rubenzer, Kellison, Peltier <br />ABSENT: Malaski <br />Motion made by Kellison, seconded by Peltier to approve the Minutes of <br />April 10, 1996, as amended. <br />All aye, motion passed. <br />Motion made by Schumann, seconded by Kellison, to approve the Minutes of <br />April 24, 1996, as amended. <br />All aye, motion passed. <br />Motion made by Kellison, seconded by Agness to move the City's request for <br />rezoning and subdivision from Item 12 to Item 6 on the agenda. <br />All aye, motion passed. <br />Dean and Ruby Atkinson are requesting renewal of a Mining Permit for <br />mining, processing and recycling of material on the 40 acre site formerly <br />known as the Goiffon Pit. Mr. Anthony Gleekel stated that the applicant <br />is requesting the same permit approved in 1992, which allowed crushing and <br />no limit on the amount of recyclable material. Mr. Gleekl informed the <br />Commission that Bruce Malkerson was the attorney when this issue began in <br />1994. The applicants are requesting to process more than 50% of <br />recyclable material if the market demands with an approximate amount of <br />301000 cubic yards of material. Mr. Gleekel pointed out that the adjacent <br />mining operation was allowed a rock crusher. Mr. Gleekel questioned why <br />there was no response to his letter of April 8, 1996, stating his clients <br />concerns regarding the more restrictive permit. <br />Motion made by Kellison, seconded by Peltier to recommend approval of a <br />Mining Permit for Dean and Ruby Atkinson under the terms and conditions of <br />the mining permit approved for the site in 1994. <br />AYE: Schumann, Rubenzer, Kellison, Peltier <br />NAY: Agness, Waller <br />Motion passed. <br />Jim Kellison excused himself from the Planning Commission and reviewing <br />this issue. <br />Robert McElmury is requesting to rezone the 0.6 acre property housing <br />Bobber's Boats & Bait from Conservancy to Retail Business. The request is <br />to facilitate the business plans to include ice house rental and storage <br />and additional retail sales. <br />
