The reqular meetino was called to order by Chairman Peltier at 7:10PM
PRESENT: Waller, Schumann, Rubenzer, Kellison, Peltier
ABSENT: Agness, Malaski
Motion made by Peltier, seconded by Schumann to approve the minutes of May
22, 1996, as amended.
All aye, motion passed
Motion made by Kellison, seconded by Peltier to approve the minutes of May
29, 1996, of the joint City Council/Planning Commission meeting.
All aye, motion passed.
Motion made by Kellison, seconded by Peltier to table the request of Jim
Bever until July 24, 1996.
All aye, motion passed.
Lawrence and Kathleen Ehnstrom, 14043 Fondant Avenue North, are requesting
to build a 30' X 40', 1200 sq. ft. accessory building which requires an
SUP. The structure would exceed the 260 square foot maximum permitted in
an SFU district by 940 sq. ft. In addition, the placement of the
structure is proposed to be 20 ft. from the rear property line, 10 feet
closer than the district allows. The request is being submitted to store
a large recreational vehicle and other personal property.
Commissioner Malaski arrived.
Mick Danhoff, a neighboring resident opposed the oversized building
because it exceeded the allowable limit within the zoning district.
It was the general consensus of the Planning Commission that the proposed
building far exceeded the allowable limits of 260 sq. ft. for an accessory
building in the SFU zone. Commissioner Kellison suggested the applicant
consider enlarging his garage to the allowed 1,000 sq. ft.
Motion made by Schumann, seconded by Peltier to recommend approval of a
776 sq. ft. accessory building constructed with material similar to the
residence.
AYE: Peltier, Schumann
NAY: Kellison, Malaski, Rubenzer, Waller
Motion failed.
Motion made by Kellison, seconded by Malaski, to recommend denial of the
request of Lawrence and Kathleen Ehnstrom, 14043 Fondant Ave., to
construct a 30' X 40' accessory structure based on the size of the
building and zone of the property.
All aye, motion passed
