Ai rosin MIRMY .7.060WORTAXAM <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Peltier at 7:00PM. <br />- <br />PRESENT: Agness, Kellison, Malaski, Miltz-Miller, Schumann, Peltier <br />Rubenzer, Tom Loucks and Ed Elliott of Loucks and Assoc., <br />Councilman LaValle, Administrator Museus <br />Chairman <br />Peltier opened <br />the public <br />hearing for Mr. Thomas Walsh, 5635 <br />165th St. <br />North, who has <br />requested <br />a special use permit for the storing <br />and processing <br />of fire wood <br />at the <br />above address. The property is zoned <br />agricultural <br />and consists <br />of 20 acres. <br />The City zoning ordinance does not <br />specifically <br />address the <br />storing and <br />processing of fire wood, but Chapter <br />320-45 <br />Subd. 3, (c), does <br />permit excavating, <br />landfills, nurseries, <br />commercial <br />pen feeding, <br />and similar <br />activities as a special use in the <br />agricultural <br />district. <br />The City has <br />also issued a special use permit to <br />another <br />party for the processing <br />of <br />wood waste in the agricultural <br />district <br />on Irish Ave. <br />A permit for <br />similar activities has been issued to <br />adjacent <br />industrially zoned <br />property. <br />No representative of the applicant <br />was present <br />at the meeting. <br />Mr. Fredric <br />Suess, 5725 <br />165th St. North <br />addressed the Planning Commission <br />regarding <br />the special use <br />permit and <br />indicated that he prefer the SUP not <br />be issued, <br />but if it was, <br />the wood <br />pile be placed to the east side of Mr. <br />Walsh's <br />property in such <br />a manner that <br />it did not present a detriment to <br />his property. <br />Chairman <br />Peltier closed <br />the public <br />hearing and made a motion to table <br />action <br />on the request until <br />a representative <br />of the applicant could be <br />present <br />to address the concerns <br />of <br />the Planning Commission which included <br />location <br />of the wood processing <br />on <br />the property, screening, potential fire <br />hazards, <br />potential access <br />problems <br />across wetlands, setbacks from property- <br />ropertylines <br />linesand <br />other matters. <br />Motion seconded <br />by Kellison. <br />All aye, <br />motion passed. <br />Mr. Tim <br />Garry, representing <br />Burnet <br />Realty approached the Planning <br />Commission <br />with the concept <br />of a post <br />office site on the west side of <br />Trunk Highway <br />61 and approximately <br />150th St. Mr. Garry represents the <br />property <br />owner, Gary Svoboda <br />and is <br />working with a developer, Mr. Russ <br />Goudge, <br />Ashton Lake Home <br />Builders, <br />in development of the site for a post <br />Office. <br />Mr. Garry indicated <br />interest <br />in rezoning the property Nov— <br />commercial <br />use.
