MINUTES FOR THE HUGO PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING OF OCTOBER 24, 199C <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Sent-.-.Ier at 7:03 PM. <br />PRESENT: Bill Mezzano, Gail Thoreson, and Richard Senkler <br />City Administrator, Ken Huber <br />Acting Secretary, Mary Ann Creager <br />ABSENT: Chuck Henry, Bob Oswald, and Debra Barnes <br />Mezzano made motion, Thoreson seconded, to approve the minutes for the <br />Planning Commission meeting of September 26, 1990, as submitted. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />SPECIAL USE PERMIT (1:.'ENCO CONSTRUCTION) <br />On behalf of Mr. Mike Finnemanm, the Kenco Construction Co. has made <br />application to the City of Hugo to install a temporary 4' X 8' sign on the <br />southeast corner of Highway 61 and County Rd. 8A, and will be directional <br />in nature. The property in question is zoned RB with total acreage of <br />9.45 acres. The sign is to be setback 32' from the north property line <br />and 32' from the west property line. Earlier this fall, the Kenco <br />Construction requested a temporary permit for the installation of this <br />sign. That request for a temporary permit was denied by the City Council, <br />indicating that the necessary public hearings should be held, and this <br />type of request must be reviewed by the Planning Commission. City <br />Administrator stated that there was a question as to the ownership of the <br />property in question, and Kenco's representative stated that Ed Waugh is <br />the owner, and that he has provided the City with a signed statement <br />indicating that Mr. Waugh has no objection to the sign on his property. <br />Chairman Senkler opened the meeting for public comment, and there were no <br />oral or written comments. <br />Senkler made motion, Mezzano seconded, to recommend approval of the <br />request of Kenco Construction for a Special Use Permit to install a <br />temporary 4' x 8' sign on the southeast corner of Highway 61 and County <br />Rd. 8A. Approval is subject to the following special conditions: <br />1. The sign be classified as temporary, and this permit expire no later <br />than December 1st, 1992. <br />2. The sign be unlighted and be aesthetically pleasing at all times. <br />3. The sign be installed in such a manner so as to not obstruct <br />visibility at the intersection near this sign. <br />4. No additional signs be installed on the site in question. <br />5. Written permission shall be provided from the property owner. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />SUBDIVISION REQUEST (HENRY MOL.ITOBJ <br />Mr. Henry Molitor has applied to the City of Hugo for a minor subdivision <br />and waiver of the formal platting requirements to subdivide a 10 acre <br />tract of land into two lots of approximately 5 gross acres each. The <br />property in question is located west of Geneva Avenue and north of 145th <br />
