Minutes of the Hugo Plannino Commission - October 29 The regular meeting of the Planning Commission was called to order by Chairman Senkler at 7:02PM. PRESENT: Sullivan, Jesinski, Henry, Senkler, Carole LaBelle ABSENT: Olson Mr' Senkler informed other members on the commission of Doug Blanchard's resignation. A hearing was held to consider the request of Steven Downs. Mr. Steven Michael Downs has made application to the City of Hugo for a Special Use Permit to construct a 24' X 28' garage/accessory building on Lots 5 and 6, Block 6 Hugo Addition (aka 14617 Finale Ave.). A special use permit would allow for a total of 952 sq. ft. of accessory buildings on Lots 5 and 6, Block 6. Mr. Downs has indicated that the building would be used for residential purposes to store two motor vehicles and other- miscellaneous thermiscellaneous items' The property in question is zoned SFU and is currently used for residential purposes. This matter was tabled at an earlier meeting of the Hugo Planning Commission directing Mr. Downs to clarify the exact lot width of the two lots in question. Mr. Downs is treating the property in question as a single parcel and the proposed building appears to meet the required setbacks if both lots are to be treated as a single parcel and said lots front on Finale Ave. The property does not meet the 130 ft. depth requirement, however, these lots were platted prior to the adoption of the City zoning ordinance' We would recommend that if the Planning Commission acts to approve this special use permit that it be subject to special conditions. Mr. Downs stated that his home has a stucco exterior and the accessory building would be a wood grain siding, complimentary to the house. Mr. Downs agreed that the two lots would be considered one lot. Motion made by Henry, second by Jasinski to recommend approval of the Special use permit for Mr. Steven Downs, 14617 Finale, to construct a 24' X 28' garage/accessory building for personal storage with the following special conditions; 1. The garage be designed and built similar in appearance to the house. 2. The garage be used for residential purposes only. 3. Lots 5 and 6, Block 6 be dealt with now and in the future as one parcel of land. 4. The building be constructed in compliance with the building codes and this permit within 180 days of SUP approval. All aye, motion passed. Mr. Downs has requested that this matter be placed on the December 7, 1987 City Council agenda.
