Minutes of the Hugo Plannino Commission - October 29 <br />The regular meeting of the Planning Commission was called to order by <br />Chairman Senkler at 7:02PM. <br />PRESENT: Sullivan, Jesinski, Henry, Senkler, Carole LaBelle <br />ABSENT: Olson <br />Mr' Senkler informed other members on the commission of Doug Blanchard's <br />resignation. <br />A hearing was held to consider the request of Steven Downs. <br />Mr. Steven Michael Downs has made application to the City of Hugo for a <br />Special Use Permit to construct a 24' X 28' garage/accessory building on <br />Lots 5 and 6, Block 6 Hugo Addition (aka 14617 Finale Ave.). A special <br />use permit would allow for a total of 952 sq. ft. of accessory buildings <br />on Lots 5 and 6, Block 6. Mr. Downs has indicated that the building would <br />be used for residential purposes to store two motor vehicles and other- <br />miscellaneous <br />thermiscellaneous items' The property in question is zoned SFU and is <br />currently used for residential purposes. This matter was tabled at an <br />earlier meeting of the Hugo Planning Commission directing Mr. Downs to <br />clarify the exact lot width of the two lots in question. Mr. Downs is <br />treating the property in question as a single parcel and the proposed <br />building appears to meet the required setbacks if both lots are to be <br />treated as a single parcel and said lots front on Finale Ave. The <br />property does not meet the 130 ft. depth requirement, however, these lots <br />were platted prior to the adoption of the City zoning ordinance' We would <br />recommend that if the Planning Commission acts to approve this special use <br />permit that it be subject to special conditions. <br />Mr. Downs stated that his home has a stucco exterior and the accessory <br />building would be a wood grain siding, complimentary to the house. Mr. <br />Downs agreed that the two lots would be considered one lot. <br />Motion made by Henry, second by Jasinski to recommend approval of the <br />Special use permit for Mr. Steven Downs, 14617 Finale, to construct a 24' <br />X 28' garage/accessory building for personal storage with the following <br />special conditions; <br />1. The garage be designed and built similar in appearance to the house. <br />2. The garage be used for residential purposes only. <br />3. Lots 5 and 6, Block 6 be dealt with now and in the future as one <br />parcel of land. <br />4. The building be constructed in compliance with the building codes and <br />this permit within 180 days of SUP approval. <br />All aye, motion passed. <br />Mr. Downs has requested that this matter be placed on the December 7, 1987 <br />City Council agenda. <br />
