Planning Commission Minutes <br />July 10, 1985 page 2 <br />Marlene Mogren - SUP - Mrs. Mogren provided statements from surrounding neighbors <br />stating they had no objection to using the home as a transitional residence for <br />divorced and battered women. Mr. Len Shimota was present, 9824 140th St. opposed <br />the concept, stating it was a residential neighborhood only and should not be used <br />for housing emotionally distressed persons. Mrs. Mogren stated that the board of <br />directors is made up of professional people and they would be consulted when the <br />needs of a resident were in question. <br />Motion made by Rudisill, seconded by Atkinson to recommend approval of the Special <br />Use Permit for Marlene Mogren to use her home at 9924 140th St. as a share home for <br />women with the following conditions; <br />1. Acquisition of a state license. <br />2. Compliance of all fire and building codes. <br />3. No changes done to the outside appearance of the hone, that it continue to look <br />like an ordinary hone). <br />4. A maximum of five adults, 10 total and not to exceed 15 for more than 72 hours <br />on an emergency basis. This number excludes the owner and family. <br />All aye, motion carried. <br />William Wolfe - SPA - Mr. Wolfe would like to construct a pole building at his <br />residence at 15567 Jeffrey Ave. No. The property is zoned agriculture and the <br />building totals 1280 sq. ft. The accessory building would be constructed closer <br />to the road than the principle building. <br />Motion made by Rudisill, seconded by Olson to recommend approval of the site plan <br />and variance to construct a 35 x 45 pole building at 15567 Jeffrey, site plan 7-10-85. <br />All aye, motion carried. <br />George Knutson - SPA - Mr. Knutson plans to build a decorative accessory building 22 x 18 <br />for storing antiques and possibly used a;a guest house. No plumbing or heating <br />would be installed. The planning commission referred to Chapter 320-4 Subd. D para. 3, <br />"accessory structure other than those listed as permitted". <br />Motion made by Olson, seconded by Rudisill to recommend approval of the stone and <br />wood accessory building for George Knuteson, 10051 Kerry Ct.0onservancy zone) <br />All aye, motion carried. <br />Quentin Marier - SPA - Rr. Marier would like to construct an additional storage <br />building on his one acre parcel which lies in the conservancy zone. The matter <br />was tabled until July 24, to give the planning commission an opportunity to inspect <br />the location and the property. <br />Atkinson made motion, Rudisill seconded to table the issue until July 24, 1985 <br />All aye, motion carried. <br />Patrick Higgins - SPA - Motion made by Atkinson, seconded by Olson to recommend <br />approval of the Site Plan for Patrick Higgins, 12145 Everton to construct a 20 x 16 <br />wood frame garage for storage, as per site plan 7-10-85. All aye, motion carried. <br />Atkinson made motion, second by Rudisill to commend Chairman Lorch for his excellent <br />help, guidance, and leadership as Chairman of the Planning Commission. We will all <br />miss Kinny in his absence and we wish him luck in his future endeavors. All aye, <br />motion carried. <br />Motion made by Rudisill, seconded by Lorch to adjourn at 9:50 PM.
