BALD EAGLE SPORTSMAN ASSN - ANNUAL REVIEW OF SPECIAL USE PERMIT
Mr. Arthur Timm, president of the association, was present, and submitted
a listing of the club's current officers, along with the following requests:
1. Open 2 hours later on August 29, 1981 for club Trap Championship Shoot -off,
in exchange for closing of 2 hours earlier on following day, August 30.
2. Open all Sundays in October in preparation of hunting season, in exchange
for closing of club for all of December and January.
The second request was asked for because of a substantial increase in real estate
taxes. The additional Sundays would alleviate the money problem somewhat. Mr.
Timm stated that he had taken a random canvas of 125th Street and Goodview Avenue,
and have statements that the additional Sundays wopld offer no problem to them.
Mrs. Axelson was present and stated that she hadMen contacted by any one. She
was not in favor of the consecutive Sundays in'October. Mr. Timm apologized to
Mrs. Axelson for not seeking her comments, but felt that because of her continual
negative response regarding activities at the club, did not feel anything would
change.
Motion made by Hanson, seconded by Lorch, to recommend approval of the request
to extend the hours of operation on August 29, 1981, from a closing at 6:00 PM
All aye. Motion Carried.
Mr. Timm did not feel two Sundays additional out of 52 was an unreasonable request.
He stated the club would also consider relinquishing hours in February in order
to be given approval for the additional Sundays in October. Mr. Timm was advised
that he could present his case to the City Council on April 6, 1981. Planning
Commission members will make an on-site inspection of the area on April 4, at
1:30 PM.
