MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS <br />OF THE <br />HUGO PLANNING COMMISSION <br />October 12, 1977 <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Ehret at 8:04 PM. <br />PRESENT: Ehret, Peloquin, Peltier, Greger, Gillen, and McAllister <br />Dan Koehler, Washington County, was also present. <br />ABSENT: Rosenquist <br />Motion made by Peloquin, seconded by Gillen, to approve the minutes of September 28, <br />19779 as presented. <br />All aye. Motion carried. <br />DENNIS KILLIAN — VARIANCE <br />Mr. Killian wants to purchase the KC Hall on Bald Eagle Lake, and construct a <br />24 x 24 garage on the south ease side of the building. Mr. Killian presented a <br />site plan of what he hopes to do. The garage would be 26' from the road right— <br />of-way. After further discussion, Ehret determined that the garge would actually <br />be only 6' from the right—of-way of the road. Ehret asked as to the possibility <br />of constructing the garage to the north, and Killian stated that would create a <br />more expensive project calling for major remodeling. Mr. Koehler felt that 6' <br />would be much too close to the road, and agreed to meet with Mr. Killian at <br />the site to find a possible answer to the problem. <br />Motion made by Peltier, seconded by Gillen, to table the Dennis Killian variance <br />request until October 26, 1977, Mr. Killian to review possible alternatives, and <br />contact Washington County Planning for assistance. <br />VOTING FOR: Peloquin, Peltier, Greger, Gillen, McAllister, and Ehret <br />Motion Carried <br />COUNTRY SQUIRE — REZONING <br />Mr. Van Kleek, representing Country Squire, is requesting to rezone 9 parcels each <br />having 100 feet of frontage on Forest Blvd. from Agriculture to RB. Gillen went <br />on record stating.that he wished to refrain from the discussion and voting regarding <br />this matter. An aerial photo of the property in question was presented to the Commission. <br />Mr. Koehler inquired as to the type of businesses that would be going in there. Mr. <br />Van Kleek stated that four lots are tendatively set for a nursery, an office for <br />cement contractor, another office building, and a model home. Was not sure about the <br />balance of the lots. Mr. Koehler also stated that the Commission should review the <br />soil borings and perc tests for these lots. The Commission also felt that there <br />should be some kind of plan for access to these lots, rather than nine individual <br />driveways. Mr. Van Kleek stated that north of the 900 feet, there is a 66' easement <br />owned by Sophia Arcand. Peloquin stated that McCullough should get the 300 feet north <br />of the easement rezoned to RB also, and McCullough agreed. Ehret suggested that Mr. <br />
