Hugo Planning Commission <br />May 24, 1978 <br />Page 2 of 4 <br />James Brevig, 14120 Hyde Avenue, suggested that the Planning Commission recommend <br />denial of the Mining Permit for Fischer. <br />Engineer Kuusisto's mining report is on file at City Hall. <br />Mr. Gillen stated that he lives closer to the mining operation than any of the resi— <br />dents present, and he has never had a problem with the noise and odor. <br />Motion made by Peloquin, seconded by Gillen, that the request for Mining Permit as <br />requested by Fischer Construction be tabled until June 14, 1978, at which time the <br />following will be ava%ble: <br />1. A report from the Police Department regarding the noise problem. <br />2. Sheriff's report on truck traffice on County Road 8A. <br />3. Request FCA to obtain a noise reading on night time operation. <br />VOTING FOR: Peloquin, Peltier, Gillen, Woeltge, McAllister, and Ehret <br />Motion Carried. <br />Let the minutes show that when a complaint is filed with the Police Department, that <br />the holder of the permit be notified of said complaint. A copy of the complaint is <br />to be filed 'with the Planning Commission. The permit holder is responsible for <br />responding to the city regarding said complaint. <br />Mr. Fischer gave the Planning Commission permission to inspect the area during hours <br />of operation.,. <br />RICHARD SCHUHk— MINING PERMIT <br />Mr. Schuh was present at the meeting, and questioned the difference in expiration <br />of time from Nis permit and Mr. Fischer's. Let the record show that all Mining <br />Permits shoulA expire on June 30 of a given year. <br />1 <br />Mr. Kuusisto'4 report stated that the haul road to the east (152nd Street) from the <br />pit area is iii need of reshaping and grading. Mr. Schuh stated the problem was <br />created by frost boils, and he planned on filling with gravel. <br />Mr. Brevig stited that he would like to see the Planning Commission recommend denial. <br />Motion made bi McAllister, seconded by Gillen, to recommend approval of the Mining <br />Permit for MrRichard Schuh until June 309 1979. Mr. Schuh stated that the haul <br />road of 152nd treet will be reshaped and gravel added to the satisfaction of the <br />City Engineer within 30 days. Mining Permit also subject to the following: <br />(SEE ATTACHED) <br />Ehret suggest4d that the motion should include that any noise caused, be brought <br />under the sam) � standards of other pits in the city. <br />Let the recor�show that citizens voiced concern over the number of plants, creating <br />an overall problem. <br />VOTING FOR: 1'eloquin, Peltier, Gillen, Woeltge, McAllister, and Ehret <br />Motion Carried, <br />
