City COUncil meeting of June ''Ci, 1.994 <br />Page 4 <br />SURFACE WATER MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP <br />Based on discussions with Fete Willenbring of (ISM at the Council's last <br />meeting, staff requests the Council to schedule a special meeting to <br />consider the City's Surface Water Management Flan. <br />Stoltiman made motion, Leroux: seconded, to schedule a special meeting of <br />the Hugo City Council for July 25, 1994, at 7:30 PM, for the purpose of <br />consideration of the City's Surface Water Management Flan. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />MISCELLANEOUS <br />The Mayor received a letter from a resident regardinq "street" problems <br />and how he felt they should be remedied. <br />The Mayor will represent Hugo on the White Bear Counseling Center's float <br />in White Bear's ManitoU Days parade. <br />The City received a letter from the U.S. Department of Commerce (Census) <br />regarding the City's cost to hold a special census. <br />Leroux made motion, Miron seconded, to approve the Agreement between the <br />Bureau of Census and the City of Hugo, for the purpose of conducting a <br />Special population census, and authorize payment of $18,400 to the Bureau <br />to cover their costs for the census. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />The Finance Director submitted a report regarding City funds invested in <br />Piper Jaffray institutional government funds. 'These funds have been <br />adversely affected by the increase in interest rates, and as a result, <br />some investor=_ have experienced a loss in their investment in the fund. <br />The City did not suffer any loss, and the Director will track: events as <br />they unfold. <br />The City Attorney updated the Council on the status of the Harley Davidson <br />motorcycle, soon to be owned by the City. <br />Jack Kornovich, White Bear Meadows, appeared before the Council regarding <br />preliminary plat approval. <br />Leroux made motion, Stoltiman seconded, directing the City Attorney and <br />City Engineer review easement documents for the White Bear Meadows <br />subdivision and be placed on the next Council agenda for preliminary plat <br />approval. <br />All aye.
