Hugo Planning Commission
September 129 1979
'Jasecuster — cont.
otion made by Mc:,llister, seconded by Lorch, to recommend approval
of the request for Variance from Paul Hasecuster, 12670 Ingersoll revenue,
to construct a garage 20' from the right—of—way instead of the required
40' front yard setback.
All aye. He would like to construct an accessory building (30 x 56 pole
barn) prior to the main residence. He anticipates construction of the
house in the Spring of 1980. The land is in RRII zone. I.r. ,°,arnecke
will use the building for a. garage and storage until his house is con—
structed. The Planning Commission quoted Chapter 320-5, Subd ILT
stating t1le ^accessory building cannot be constructed nearer the front
lot line than the principal building. The site plan, as presented,
indicated the pole barn in front of -the house. The validity of this
ordinance was questioned by the Commission. Thr. aarnecke will need an
anplication :for a variance. The following information will be re—
a. uired fror:? -.J1,: necke: exact location of buildings, proof of ownership,
and a letter of credit (,,"?'5,000) to insure obtaining of a boilding permit
for the house.
1510 -tion made by Greger, seconded by Fc Mister, to table the request
of 1r. -,arnecke until the meeting of September 26, 1979.
All aye. T?otion Carried.
R. J. ROB RTSON — not present
GEORGE CIIOC1=T — VA'_?IANCE
Nr. Crockett, 4733 122nd St, would like to construct a 22 x 22 garage
along the southern property line. The requirement is 5' for side yard
setback, and the ,ara;e would be 3 1.-' from property line.
Mr. Sherman Stromen, 4749 122nd Street, present at the meeting, was
opposed to t'tie request for variance. He felt there were too many
buildings alone; the property line already, and there was room to build
the r, -,race between the house and the road. Mr. Crockett was opposed
to a different location because of the rental_ houses. The area behind
the garage would not serve any purpose. i,"r. Stromen stated that he
would not oppose construction at the 5' requirement, but not 3;' setback.
I-otion rade by :cloquin, seconded by Greger, to recommend denial of the
variance request of George Crockett, to construct a 22 x 22 -arae
from the property line instead of the required 5'.
