MIIRJT---'S OF TFL PROCEEDINGS <br />10M-4114 <br />HUGO PLANNING COMMISSION <br />May 23, 1979 <br />The public hearing to consider the request of Fred Benson for a rezoning was called <br />to order by Chairperson Theodora Peltier at 7:36 PM. <br />PRESENT: Peloquin, Greger, Gillen, Hanson, Houle and Peltier <br />McAllister arrived at 7:40 PM. <br />FRED BENSON - REZONING <br />Mr. Bill Jensen, Suburban Engineering, stated that the land was purchased to operate <br />a dog kennel, and the property is larger than what is required for that purpose. <br />The northern property willbXdivided into 10 acre home sites, and a request has been <br />made to rezone the south westerly portion of the property from AG to RRI. There <br />are h' h knolls located there, and appear to be good for homesites. These sites <br />would,i'nterfer with the kennel operation. The land south of the area requested to <br />be rezoned is in the RR2 district. The lots would be made up of approximately <br />7A9 8A, and 5A lots. The size of lots would be determined by topography. <br />Ray Olson, 7600 132nd Street, was present, and asked if the kennel operation had already <br />been approved, because he had not heard anything about the operation. Mr. Olson was <br />informed that the kennel had been approved in 1978. Mr. Olson also wanted to know <br />what Hugo was going to do about future development. <br />Peloquin and McAllister agreed that before the rezoning can be approved, perc tests <br />would have to be taken to prove buildable sites. A report had been submitted from <br />Dan Koehler stating that the area was questionable as to possible approved perc tests. <br />Hanson stated he was concerned with where Hugo would stop with rezonings in that area. <br />The publt hearing closed at 7:57 PM. <br />The regular meeting of the Planning Commission was called to order at 8:02 PM. <br />PRESENT: Peloquin, Grger, Gilleng Hanson, Houle, McAllister and Peltier <br />Motion made by Peloquint seconded by Hanson, to approve the minutes of May 9, 1979, <br />after the following correction is made: <br />Page 1 (paragraph 3) - Moe also stated that there are numerous times <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />Motion made by Hanson, seconded by McAllister, to revise the agenda to move Carl Dale <br />down to #6 and Mining Permits to y#7. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />FRED BENSON - REZONING <br />Peltier stated that the Planning Commission should have soil tests stetted -before <br />a vote could be taken on the rezoning.
