City Council meeting of February 1, 199; Page 2 2. Extension of the cattle crossing on Homestead Avenue located 1/2 mile north of 147th Street, at an estimated cost of $19,595.00. Given the total project cost of X41,355.00, staff believes that completion of this project should be considered during the development of the City's 1994 budget. The Council discussed alternate ways of dealing with the issue and felt that proper signing of the hazard would sufficient to alert drivers. LeroUX made motion, Miron seconded, to table this matter Until complete signing information is received, and that Councilwoman Barnes contact Verdene Molitor to determine a long-range plan for the crossing, and that Barnes report her findings to the Council. All aye. Motion Carried. WATER TOWER BIDS Bids were received on January 28, 1993 for the construction of the City's new water tower. City Engineer, Howard K.Lluslsto, recommended that the City accept the low bid from C:BI Na-C;'on, Inc., in the amount of $496,20u:).0 ►. Stoltzman made motion, Barnes seconded, to accept the recommendation of the City Engineer, and award the bid for construction Of the C.it.y's water tower to CBI Na -Con, Inc., in the amount of $496,20i).ii(4. All aye. Motion Carried. 1993 SQUAD CAR PURCHASE The Citi/ received a bid price for purchase of a new squad car in 1993, under the State of Minnesota's Cooperative Purchasing Program, for $12,888.00. This is a budget item for 1993 and staff recommends purchase approval. Miron made motion, Leroux; seconded, to approve the purchase of a new squad car in 1993, in the amount of12,888.�►i►. All aye. CAPITAL CITY MUTUAL AID AGREEMENT The Council received a copy of a proposed contract ex;tericii.ng (:;i.ty participation in Capital City Mutual Aid Association for- a period of fi.ve years. The City's Fire Chief recommends the City's contint..ted participation in this program. Staff review of the cont.rac:t indicates. that it is acceptable to the City. LeroUX made motion, Miron seconded, that. the City of HUC�Q1 enter into a five-year contract with the Capital City Mutual Aid Associ.ation, and authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to sign said Agreement on behalf of the City of Hugo.
