MY I.; Ui,:U1C I I mant,i,ng of February 16, 194 Page _ The MWCC currently has a waste hauler disposal site located in White gear Township near Bald Eagle Lake, and the Township has requested that the MWCC investigate relocating the site. Discussions with White Lear Township indicate their reasons for requesting this change are: 1. The site is currently located in a residential area which .is of concern to local property owners. 2. The proximity to Bald Eagle Lake leads to possible pollution of the lake. 3. 'The 'Township questions the credits they are receiving on the volume of waste being disposed at the site. 4. 'The Township now is almost totally sewered, and very little demand is being put on the site by Township residents. The MWCC's preferred site is located near the intersection of 130th and Falcon Ave., which is in or near the Bald Eagle Industrial Pari':. Staff concerns for this project. include: 1. Metering of the effluent deposit on the site to ensure the City receives full compensation for the sewage deposited in the City's mains. 2. The site be 'located off-street to avoid traffic problems. 3. The facility receive adequate maintenance and odor control. 4. The site has flush capability for cleaning. 5. Visual screening be provided to lessen the .impart:. of .the site to adjacent property owners. Since the City of Hugo has a substantial number of septic systems, the City's assistance in providing a dump site for their effluent would be appropriate. Staff recommend that. he City engineer coordinate the establishment of such a site with the MWCC.:; and report to the Council the proposed plans and specifications for Council approval. Leroux made motion, Miron seconded, authorizing the City Administrator and City Engineer to work with the MWCC in an effort to establish a waste hauler disposal site. The proposed site snail be metered to ensure that. the City receives full compensation for the sewage deposited in the Citys mains. All aye. Motion Carried. Councilman Miron suggested that the Ci.ty hold a public hearing prior to the establishment of a site. ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Staff requests authority to publish an advert.i.sement for bids for the sale of the City's 1959 pumper which has become excess in the fire department due to the purchase of a new pumper this spring. Miron made motion, Leroux; seconded, to advertise for bids for the sale of the City's 1959 pumper. All aye. Motion Carried.
