City Council meeting of June 21, 1993 <br />Page 5 <br />Miron made motion, Leroux seconded, to accept the City Administrator's <br />recommendation that 30% of the road -improvement costs for base and <br />bituminous be assessed against benefited property owners, as well as the <br />cost of all curb and gutter, for property in the Peloquin Industrial Park. <br />All aye' Motion Carried' <br />The meeting with the Lino Lakes City Council to discuss issues of joint <br />concern between the two communities has been delayed' A tentative date, <br />some time in August, will be scheduled later. <br />Staff recommends that the City Council appoint Vern Bartlette to the <br />building inspector internship position left vacant by the recent departure <br />of Tim Saari' Mr' Bartlette to serve until October 1, 1993' <br />Stoltzman made motion, Barnes seconded, to appoint Mr' Vern Bartlette as <br />the City's Building Department Intern, effective from 6/28/93 until <br />10/1/93. <br />All aye' Motion Carried' <br />CITY-WIDE DITCH MAINTENANCE FEES <br />The Council discussed White Bear Township's Surface Water Utility <br />Ordinance, and such policy's potential impact on Hugo. <br />Barnes made motion, Stoltzman seconded, to table this issue until such <br />time as the City receives the engineering report from Howard Kuusisto <br />regarding the Water Management Plan. <br />All aye' Motion Carried' <br />Councilman received a call from a resident on Harrow Avenue regarding <br />ponding on his property' It was the resident's feeling that the problem <br />occurred as a result of the blacktopping project of Harrow Avenue, to <br />which Leroux agreed. Mayor Stoltzman felt that the problem was present a <br />long time prior to the improvement project' <br />Miron made motion, Leroux seconded, directing City staff to attempt to <br />resolve this problem and report to Council' If the Administrator is <br />unable to negotiate a settlement, the matter is to be brought to the <br />Council for further direction' <br />VOTING AYE: Barnes, Brunotte, Leroux, Miron <br />VOTING NAY: Stoltzman <br />Motion Carried. <br />Miron made motion, Leroux seconded, to adjourn at 11:00 PM. <br />
