City Council meeting of August ib. 1993 <br />Page 4 <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT APPOINTMENT (MCMAHON) <br />Leroux made motion, Miron seconded, to appoint Joseph McMahon to the Hugo <br />Volunteer Fire Department, effective August ib, 1993. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />MISCELLANEOUS <br />NONPOINT POLLUTION ORDINANCE <br />Miron made motion. Stoltzman seconded, directing staff to refer scheduling <br />of a public hearing to amend existing City ordinances to include interim <br />strategy to reduce nonpoint source pollution to the Hugo Planning <br />Commission. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />HUGO PLANNING COMMISSION VACANCY <br />A Committee was appointed by the Council on June 7, 1993 to review <br />candidates for the PC position recently vacated by Bill Mezzano, and <br />recommended appointment of David Schumann to fill the vacancy. City <br />resident, Carole LaBelle, addressed the Council stating her opposition to <br />the recommendation. <br />Miron made motion, Brunotte seconded, to appoint David Schumann to the <br />Hugo Planning Commission for a term to expire 12/31/94. <br />VOTING AYE: Brunotte, Leroux, Miron <br />VOTING NAY: Stoltzman <br />Motion Carried. <br />WALLER DRAINAGE PROBLEM <br />Ed Waller addressed the Council with possible solutions to his water <br />problem. <br />Miron made motion, Brunotte seconded, directing staff review Waller's <br />recommendations If an on-site inspection is conducted, Mr. Waller and <br />Councilman Leroux are to be notified. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />Pauline Daubenspeck and Warren Arcand apologized to the City Council for <br />statements made at a previous Council meeting. <br />Floreen Meyer addressed the Council about the closing of 145th Street. <br />Leroux made motion, Stoltzman <br />All aye.
