City Council meeting of September 7, 1993 <br />Page 4 <br />Miron made motion, Brunotte seconded, to accept the recommendation of the <br />Hugo Fire Chief and appoint Richard P. Inott as a fire fighter on the Hugo <br />Volunteer Fire Department, effective 09/07/93. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />After this meeting, the Council learned that the Fire Chief had NOT made a <br />recommendation on this appointment, and will again be addressed by the <br />Council after such recommendation is made. <br />SPECIAL BUDGET MEETING <br />Staff requested the Council conduct a special meeting of the evening of <br />September 13, 1993 to review the City's general fund budget and tax levy <br />for 1994. <br />Stoltzman made motion, Leroux; seconded, to recess tonight's meeting until <br />September 13, 1993, 8:00 PM, Hugo City Hall, to review the City's general <br />fund budget and tax levy for 1994. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />COUNCIL WORKSHOP <br />As previously discussed, the City Administrator organized a Council <br />workshop for Saturday, September 25, 1993, to review Council organization <br />and the City's role and responsibility in surface water management. <br />199•? GRAVEL PROJECT <br />The City received two bids for this year's gravel project, the low bidder <br />being Valley Paving at $4.86 per ton. The other bid was received from <br />Dresel Contracting of Forest Lake, MN. <br />Miron made motion, Leroux; seconded, to accept the low bid and award the <br />1993 gravel project bid to Valley Paving at $4.86 per ton. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />MISCELLANEOUS <br />After review of the drainage complaint registered by Dean Atkinson, an <br />on-site inspection was made of the area by the City's engineering firm and <br />developer, Jim Merila. The City Administrator summarized their findings, <br />stating that the Birch Tree Ponds development is NOT increasing water flow <br />onto Mr. Atkinson's property, the outflow of water has improved, and no <br />further consideration need be given to Mr. Atkinson's complaint. <br />Leroux made motion, Barnes seconded, to accept the recommendation of the <br />City Engineer regarding the Dean Atkinson drainage complaint, and request <br />that his recommendation be submitted in writing for review by the Council <br />at the meeting of 09/20/93. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />
