MINUTES FOR THE HUGO CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 20, 1993 <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Stoltzman at 7:00 PM. <br />PRESENT: Barnes, Brunotte, Leroux:, Miron, Stoltzman <br />City Attorney, Greg Galler <br />City Engineer, Howard h;uusisto <br />City Clerk., Mary Ann Creager <br />Leroux: made motion, Barnes seconded, to approve the minutes for the City <br />Council meeting of September 7, 1993, after the following wording is <br />inserted after the appointment of Richard Inott to the FD: The Council <br />learned that the Fire Chief had NOT made a recommendation on this <br />appointment, and will again be addressed by the Council after such <br />recommendation is made. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />Miron made motion, Brunotte seconded, to approve the minutes for the <br />budget meeting of September 13, 1993, as submitted. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />Miron made motion, Stoltzman seconded, to approve the claims for September <br />200 1993, in the amount of $41,948.51. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />VARIANCE REQUEST (FIRKUS) <br />Jeff Firk:us of 13975 Homestead Avenue North requested a variance to <br />construct a 30' x: 40' pole building between his home and Homestead <br />Avenue. Present zoning classification of this property is RR2. Hugo City <br />Code, Chapter 320-5, Subd. H(4) states that no detached garage or other <br />accessory building shall be located nearer to the front lot line than the <br />principal building on this lot. <br />Miron made motion. Leroux: seconded, to approve the variance request of <br />Jeff Firk:us, 13975 Homestead Avenue, to construct a 30' x; 40' pole <br />building between his home and Homestead Avenue. The proposed building <br />shall be used for residential purposes only. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />WASHINGTON COUNTY COMP PLAN REVIEW PRESENTATION <br />Merritt Clapp -Smith of Washington County's Planning staff appeared before <br />the Council to present a summary of Washington County's process in <br />reviewing its Comprehensive Plan. She encouraged community participation <br />in the process. She asked that they be kept informed of Hugo's progress <br />in updating our Comprehensive Plan. Washington Count/ Commissioner Dennis <br />Hegberg informed the Council that Metro Council would be addressing <br />possible revisions in its MUSA, which could be consequential to Hugo. <br />DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT (COUNTRY PONDS) <br />Previously, the Council had expressed concerns regarding first -floor <br />elevations for the project.
