City Council meeting of October 18, 1993 <br />Page 2 <br />Miron made motion, Leroux; seconded, to approve the variance request of <br />James Gondek, 12160 Fiona Avenue, to construct a 36' x 56' garage closer <br />to the road than the principal building. Approval. is granted because of <br />the large setback and the seclusion of the site. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />REZONING (BARDOUR) <br />Mr. Jeffrey Barbour, 13670 Isleton Avenue North, submitted an application <br />to rezone 115 acres located in the S 1/2 of the NW 1/4, and the N 1/2 of <br />the SW 1/4 in Section 26, T7.1, R21W, from Agriculture to RR2. The purpose <br />of the rezoning is to allow for the development of 22 single family homes <br />on the site. The current dog kennel in operation on the property would <br />cease to exist upon development of the property. The Planning Commission <br />conducted a public hearing on this matter on October 13, 1993, and <br />submitted the rezoning to the Council without recommendation due to a 2 - <br />. split vote. Dan Dolan, developer of the property, explained the PUD <br />concept for this property, and his intention to preserve all wetlands. <br />LeroUX made motion. Barnes seconded, to adopt ORDINANCE 93-285, AN <br />ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER =20 OF THE HUGO CITY CODE ENTITLED "ZONING" BY <br />AMENDING THE ZONING CLASSIFICATION OF THE DESCRIBED REAL PROPERTY. <br />VOTING AYE: Barnes, Brunotte, Leroux:, Miron, Stoltzman <br />Motion Carried. <br />AGREEMENT (STOLTZMAN) <br />At the Council meeting of October 4, 1993, the City Council directed the <br />City Attorney to make certain revisions to the Agreement for Walter <br />Stoltzman, specifically, establishing the termination clause for the <br />Agreement. Acting Mayor Miron presided over the discussion, which <br />included a lengthy discussion about Walter Stoltzman's ability to employ <br />people in his business. <br />Barnes made motion, LeroUX seconded, to table this matter until the <br />meeting of 11/1/9: to allow for change in language relating the employees <br />at the Stoltzman business. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />126TH STREET STOP SIGN <br />Mr. Robert Hanson, 4920 126th Street, requested that a stop sign he <br />installed on 126th Street at Exhall Avenue. Mr. Hanson expressed concern <br />about the increase in traffic on that road, the speed of the automobiles, <br />and the potential for an accident for the many children livinq alonq this <br />street. This issue was reviewed by Georqe M. Stuempfig, traffic engineer <br />with Maier, Stewart R_. Associates, as part of the Hazard Elimination <br />Contract, as well as Howard KUUSiSt.o, the City's engineer. In both <br />instances, the recommendation was to not install a stop sign at this <br />location. Mr. Hanson addressed the Council, stating that numerous <br />citations have been issued for speeding. <br />
