City Council meeting of October 18, 1993 <br />Page _ <br />Stoltzman made motion, Miron seconded, to table this request to allow <br />staff time to obtain,a report from the Sheriff's office regarding the <br />number of -citations issued in the area in question. If no report is <br />available, staff is to request the deputy patrol the area to substantiate <br />the claim of excessive speeding. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />HAZARD ELIMINATION SAFETY PROGRAM SIGN INVENTORY <br />The Council reviewed the inventory of signs to be replaced as part of the <br />Hazard Elimination Program, with 90 of the cost to be funded by a federal <br />grant. <br />Miron made motion, Leroux; seconded, to approve the inventory of signs to <br />be replaced as part of the Hazard Elimination Program. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />FIREMAN'S RELIEF ASSOCIATION APPOINTMENT <br />Based on a request from the Hugo Fireman's Relief Association, staff <br />recommended the appointment of Ron Otkin, the City's Finance Director, as <br />an ex -officio member of the Hugo Fireman's Relief Association, replacing <br />City Clerk., Mary Ann Creager. Because Mr. Otkin is more closely involved <br />with the finances of the Association, his membership on the Board would be <br />more practical. <br />Stoltzman made motion, Barnes seconded, to appoint the City's Finance <br />Director, Ron Otkin, as an ex -officio member of the Hugo Fireman's Relief <br />Association, replacing City Clerk., Mary Ann Creager. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />RICE CREEK: WATERSHED DISTRICT ADVISORY COMMITTEE APPOINTMENT <br />The RCWD requested that the City Council appoint an individual to serve on <br />the Rice Creek Watershed Advisory Committee as part of its process in <br />amending its water resource management plan. Given the many surface <br />water -related issues the City is currently involved with, a member of the <br />community serving on this Board would be of benefit to the community. <br />Staff felt that appointment of a Council member, or the City <br />Administrator, would be appropriate. <br />Miron made motion, Brunotte seconded, to appoint Council member, Debra <br />Barnes, to serve on the Rice Creek Watershed Advisory Committee. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />NOVEMBER COUNCIL WORKSHOPS <br />Staff requested that the Council establish two workshops during the month <br />of November, the first, review draft -water management plan prepared by the <br />City Engineer, and the second, to discuss capital improvement planning as <br />part of the budgetary process. <br />
