City Council Minutes - March 2, 1992
Page 5
REVIEW OF FLOOD PLAIN ORDINANCE
In late -January, the City Council received a draft Flood Plain Ordinance,
prepared by the City staff, for adoption as required by Minnesota
Statutes. The staff requested that the Council review the proposed
ordinance, and note any suggestions or comments regarding same. Upon
receipt of Council input, we will then prepare the ordinance in a final
form for Council approval.
Council members stated they would provide written comments for review with
staff members at an upcoming meeting.
HAZARD ELIMINATION GRANT
Administrator Huber stated that this application has been delayed as a
result of several townships not getting their approvals to the County in a
timely manner. It is our understanding that the State will now support
this grant without 100 participation by all of Washington County's
townships. It is anticipated that grant approvals and study could be
completed within the next several months.
ADMINISTRATOR CANDIDATE INTERVIEWS
Mayor Stoltzman reviewed the schedule for interviews with five city
administrator candidates on March 13 and 14 as provided by Consultant Jim
Brimeyer. The Council indicated no objection to the proposed schedule.
CITY ADMINISTRATOR CONTRACT
Mayor Stoltzman recommended that Administrator Huber's contract with the
City be extended for a two week period due to the delay in hiring a new
administrator. Councilmember Barnes felt that there should be a clean
break for the City, and for Mr. Huber, and stated the agreement should be
terminated on March 31, 1992.
Motion made by Stoltzman, seconded by Jesinsk.i to extend Administrator
Huber's contract for a two week period.
Voting AYE: Jesinski, Stoltzman
Voting NAY: Barnes, Brunotte, Miron
Motion failed.
Motion made by Barnes, seconded by Miron to continue the termination of
Mr. Huber's contract on March 3+1, 1992 and reimburse him for his accrued
vacation in a lump sum payment and the deadline for city council agenda
shall be moved to March 31, 1992.
Voting AYE: Barnes, Brunotte, Miron
Voting NAY: Jesinski, Stoltzman
Motion passed.
