City Council meeting of May 18, 1992 <br />Page 2 <br />1992 - June 20, 1993. No substantial changes are proposed for the new <br />contract, and charges remain basically the same for 1992-93, with the <br />provision that labor rates may increase due to future negotiations in <br />Washington County. Cot.tncilman Leroux: questioned whether the City was <br />"satisfied" with the County's performance, and if not, address these <br />concerns at contract -renewal time. It was his opinion that the service <br />provided to the City was not efficient, in particular, summer blading. He <br />also felt that the City should develop a maintenance and improvement plan <br />for roads. The Mayor- is working with the County to prioritize problem <br />areae that need upgrading, depending on available finances. Councilmember <br />Barnes suggested that the City Engineer provide an estimate as to what it <br />would take to do a "wall:: through" of City's roads. <br />Miron made motion, Leroux; seconded, to approve the Road Maintenance <br />Agreement between the City of Hugo and Washington County from July 1, 1992 <br />to June 20, 1992, and authorize the Mayor to sign said Agreement on behalf <br />of the City of Hugo. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />COMPUTER PURCHASE FOR FINANCE DEPARTMENT <br />Ron Otkin, Finance Director, has requested authorization to purchase a new <br />computer due to a need for more speed and data -storage capacity to serve <br />the growth needs of the City's finance department. <br />Leroux; made motion, Barnes seconded, to approve the purchase of a persona <br />computer for the Finance Department at a cost of $2,329.00. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT RESIGNATIONS <br />Three volunteer fire fighters have submitted resignations from the fire <br />department. <br />Barnes made motion, Brunotte seconded, to accept the resignations of Don <br />Wilke, Ardean Bratlund, and Larry Johnson from the Hugo Fire Department, <br />effective May 18, 1992. <br />All a,,Ee. Motion Carried. <br />VARIANCE REQUEST _(N► UTV::ENS ) <br />Paul Neutkens has requested a variance or ..is propE-Irt.y at 12425 F.i.orl,,, <br />Ror.d to construct a detached garage closer to the r-a;ad tnan the principal <br />building. City ordinance prohibits cons' -ruction of detached garages <br />between the principal building and the road serving the property. <br />Resolution 98-11 allowss the zoning administrator tO icy{sue variance= for - <br />the setback requirements, subject to Council ratification. <br />Miron made motion, Leroux: seconded, to approve the variance re�gUest. of <br />Paul Neutkens, 12425 Fiona Road North, to construct a detached gar -age_! <br />
