MINUTES FOR THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF DECEMBER 9. 1992

<br />Barnes made motion, Leroux seconded, to approve the minutes of November
<br />16, 1992, as submitted.
<br />All aye. Motion Carried.
<br />LerouX made motion, Stoltzman seconded, to approve the claims for December
<br />9, 1992, in the amount of $44,570.90.
<br />All aye. Motion Carried.
<br />TRUTH IN TAXATION
<br />In accordance with State requirements, a public hearing was held to
<br />consider the City's 199._ budget and property tax levy. On August 17,
<br />1992, the City Council adopted a resolution approving a proposed tax levy
<br />of $912,851.00 to be collected in 1993. This represents a zero increase
<br />in property tax level from that levied for 1992, and according to the
<br />Washington County Treasurer's Office will result in an approximately 10%
<br />reduction in City property tax paid by residents of Hugo. According to
<br />State statutes, the City must adopt the final levy for 1993 at this
<br />hearing, or announce continuation of this hearing at a future date. The
<br />level of taxation may not exceed the preliminary figure established on
<br />August 17th. The Council received a draft resolution approving the 1992
<br />tax levy, collectible in 1993, in the amount of $912,851.(_)(-), and a
<br />resolution approving the general fund budget for the 199:= fiscal year.
<br />The public hearing was opened, and the only individual to address the
<br />Council was Grover Storm, who had concerns regarding the valuation of his
<br />property. There were no other written or verbal comments.
<br />Stoltzman made motion, Brunotte seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 1992-34,
<br />RESOLUTION APPROVING THE GENERAL FUND BUDGET FOR THE 1993 FISCAL YEAR.

<br />Miron made motion, Brunotte seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 1992-35,
<br />RESO!_UTION APPROVING 1992 TAX LEVY COLLECTIBLE IN 1993.

<br />KENCO SUBDIVISION
<br />On November 8. 1992, the Hugo Planning Commission conducted a public
<br />hearing on a request by h;enco Construction to subdivide a portion of Lot
<br />7, Block: =, Birch Tree Ponds 2nd Addition. An error was discovered in the
<br />placement of the home on Lot 6, Block. 3, which resulted in the home being
