G:AY G(Julnci l a -testing of December 9, 199: <br />Paqe 4 <br />Stoltzman made motion, Barnes seconded, to approve payment of $12,030 to <br />the City of White Bear Lake, for ambulance services rendered. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />PROPOSED JUNK: YARD ORDINANCE <br />The Council received a proposed ordinance regUlatinq auto dismantling <br />yards and junk yards in the City of Hugo, replacing an existing <br />ordinance. The purpose behind this recommendation is to provide set <br />standards and equitable treatment to auto dismantling and junk yard <br />operators in the City of HUgo while protecting the public's health and the <br />environment. Copies of this proposed ordinance were provided to the City <br />Attorney and MNDNR for review. Staff recommends that the Council <br />establish a hearing date of January 4, 1993 to consider adoption of the <br />ordinance. <br />Miron made motion, Stoltzman seconded, to schedule a public hearing for <br />January 4, 1997., 7:05 PM, to consider a proposed ordinance regulating auto <br />dismantling and junk yards in the City of Hugo, replacing the existing <br />ordinance. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />FIRE CHIEF'S REPORT <br />As directed, Fire Chief Ron Istvanovich presented a report on the status <br />of the Hugo Volunteer Fire Department to the Council. Dill Bruen, <br />affiliated with technical colleges in Minnesota, also made a presentati <br />to the Council. He stated he was available to assist the Fire Department <br />in resolving their problems. <br />Miron made motion, Stoltzman seconded, directing the City Administrator to <br />work with Evill Bruen in review of the Operations Manual in an effort to <br />set a mission and goals for the Hugo FD. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />Councilman Miron felt it important that all members play a "key" role in <br />the process. <br />ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT ON VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPT <br />After conducting interviews with a number of fire fighters, the City <br />Administrator submitted a written report identifying their concerns. <br />STATUS OF COMPREHENSIVE PLAN REVISION <br />Mr. Evill Coleman of the Minnesota Dept of Trade and Economical <br />Development's Star City Program has agreed to be the facilitator for the <br />issue -identification workshop as the first step in revision of the City' <br />Comprehensive Plan. Administrator MUSeLts reviewed the many ways the Cit. <br />could generate interest in this process, and requested that everyone <br />become involved to make this project a success. A workshop will be held <br />at the Hugo Elementary School on January 14, 1993, at PM. <br />1ti.. <br />
