Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for May 16, 2016 <br />Page 5 of 8 <br />Update on 147th/Oneka Lake Boulevard Neighborhood Open House <br />An Open House was held on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 to allow residents to view the plans for <br />improvements to 147th Street and Oneka Lake Boulevard between Foxhill Avenue North and <br />Goodview Avenue North. City Engineer Jay Kennedy provided an update of the meeting stating <br />comments had been made relating to the speed of traffic and the crosswalk. There was were also <br />discussions about the trail and school bus pickup/drop off locations. Kennedy stated attendees <br />were generally positive and interested in moving forward. <br />Approve Resolution for Approving Plans and Advertising for Bids for 147th/Oneka Lake <br />Boulevard <br />At the March 7, 2016 Council meeting, a public hearing was held on the 147th/Oneka Lake <br />Boulevard proposed street improvements after which the Council ordered the preparation of <br />plans and specifications for the project. The plans were prepared and shared with the affected <br />property owners at an open house held on May 10, 2016. City Engineer Jay Kennedy explained <br />the next step was for the Council to approve the plans and authorize the advertisement for bids <br />for the project. <br />Weidt made motion, Klein seconded, to approve RESOLUTION 2016-12 APPROVING <br />PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR <br />THE 147TH STREET AND ONEKA LAKE BOULEVARD STREET AND TRAIL <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECT. <br />Ayes: Miron, Klein, Petryk, Weidt <br />Nays: None <br />Motion carried. <br />Approve Resolution Designating No Parking on 147th Street and Oneka Lake Boulevard <br />The improvements for 147 Street North/Oneka Lake Boulevard improvement project will not <br />provide for adequate parking on both sides of the street east of Foxhill Avenue North and west of <br />Goodview Avenue North. City Engineer Jay Kennedy explained that approval of the proposed <br />construction as a State Aid street project is conditioned on a restriction in parking. It was <br />recommended that Council approve the resolution designating no parking on 147th Street and <br />Oneka Lake Boulevard between Foxhill Avenue North to Goodview Avenue North. <br />Klein made motion, Miron seconded, RESOLUTION 2016-13 FOR PARKING <br />RESTRICTIONS ON STATE AID PROJECT NO. 224-104-003 ON 147TH STREET AND <br />ONEKA LAKE BOULEVARD FROM FOXHILL AVENUE NORTH TO GOODVIEW <br />AVENUE NORTH. <br />All Ayes.
