BACKGROUND: Tough Mudder has submitted an application for a Special Event Permit to hold a two day event at Wild Wings Game Farm on July 16th and 17th. Tough Mudder is a for profit company located in Brooklyn, New York, who holds approximately 50 events throughout the United Stated, Canada, United Kingdoms, and Australian. This requires a Special Event Permit approved by Council because there will be approximately 12,000 attendees over the weekend, impacts to public streets, use of an amplified sound system, and alcohol served. 2. DESCRIPTION OF EVENT: Participants will run a 10-12 mile course with approximately 23 obstacles throughout the Wild Wings Game Farm property located at the southwest corner of Irish Avenue and 152nd Street. There will be approximately 9,000 participants and 3,000 spectators over the weekend during the hours of 7 a.m. — 7 p.m. The event is outlined in detail below. Cost Participation in the event requires registration and payment of approximately $160 per person based on a tiered pricing schedule, dependent on when registration takes place. There will also be a fee for parking. Parking The applicant has contracted with a professional parking management company to manage parking operations including lot layout, signage, cash collection, and directing of cars. Parking will be on the gravel pit property owned by Dean Atkinson located on the south side of 147th Street, west of Irish Avenue, and a copy of the contract between the applicant and Atkinson will be provided to the City prior to the event.
